Looking to rent a condo, and I cook daily so a range hood is a must.
Can someone give the basics on how Range Hoods are bought and installed?
I read around and there are 3 styles?
-
Under Cabinet
-
Wall-Mounted
-
Ceiling-Mounted
The condo I’m eyeing does not have cabinets on their kitchen, so should I look at Wall-Mounted instead?
The goal is I should be able to bring it with me after a year or so when I eventually move out and buy a home.
Hello there! I hope you’re liking it here. Could you edit your post title to include a question? It’s our first rule, and it would also help your post gain more traction.
oof, forgot to add the question mark thanks
Thank you! Cheers
It’s really nice that Lemmy let’s you edit title.
Where do you live? In the us a range is required to have some sort of vent above it, I have never heard of a hood that could be installed and then removed at a later date. They are intended to be permanently installed appliances. If your renting a hood above the cook surface is required and shouldn’t be something you are buying.
Can you change your hob? Miele make an excellent one with the extractor in the middle of the hob
what do you mean by hob?
iirc there was a hole ready for the ducts of the range hood.
Sorry hob/range, same thing

I’ll only be using a portable induction stove. I just need something to vent out the fumes/smoke while cooking, hence the Range Hood.
I think it’d be too costly to buy the range along with the hood.
