It was never a question if those strikes would pay off. The only “roadblock” was always Western politicians being too scared of pictures showing western components in remnants of weapons used on russian soil, fearing Putin would “escalate” somehow. However the last 3 years have shown that Putin can’t escalate any further, if he doesn’t want to provoke a NATO response.
