Not to minimize the horrors of this war, but the big players are learning so much. I can’t imagine what nightmare drones the DOD is working on.

There’s all kinds of commercial military drones around and they’re obviously far more refined and thought out than this one, but it’s equally crazy/impressive that with todays tehcnology pretty much any individual can just buy a drone and strap an actual rifle to it. Sure, it’s not accurate by any stretch, but if you have few thousand dollars laying around (and a access to firearms) you could to this too.

That would obviously be a Really Bad Idea™ for multiple reasons, but from a purely technical view it’s fairly simple.

I can tell you one: Flamethrower drones. Being developed in San Diego, CA. Might never see the light of day, but they built one lol.

Ukraine already is using “Dragon” drones to dump fire from the sky into treelines. Again, I can’t imagine what’s going on with a US flamethrower drone.

The US version may ultimately be used to combat wildfires by setting backfires in hard to reach areas. That’s about all I know to be honest.
