minus-squareBOB_DROP_TABLES@lemmy.mllinkfedilinkarrow-up1·1 year agoInteresting. Does “mongoloid” on its own mean someone of low intelligence? We have mongoloide in Brazil with that meaning. More often used as a way to call a friend silly instead of an actual insult, but can be used as one too.
minus-squareTuss@lemmy.worldlinkfedilinkarrow-up2·1 year agoIt’s an old derogatory word for someone with Down’s Syndrome. Now in combination with other words it’s mostly used about people with a lower intellect than others. Like bad car drivers. Mongoloid or mongo on it’s own is not used as it’s still bad.
