From what I understand, some servers prefer tips because they make more money that way, and since it’s cash they don’t report it to the IRS so it’s untaxed income. I don’t know how much of the server population prefers it this way.

I’m so glad I’m not the only person that gets the same “theme park” vibes from MMOs. It really takes me out of it when someone is doing the same quest as me but is a few steps ahead so they trigger a unique animation or dialogue from the quest giver, and then I experience the same animation or dialogue a few minutes later. Kinda like waiting in line for a ride but you can hear or see some parts of the ride as you progress through the line.
That’s just how jaded I am. I thought you may be spreading awareness of such tomfoolery.
I initially understood it as the company owning the employee and thought to myself “that sounds like slavery with extra steps”, but I see now that they mean the the employees have stock in the company.
