It’s part of the game, some people enjoy playing that way or can’t win any other way. All devs can really do is find creative deterrents for the behavior that other players can use. (Drill charge for example in MWII)

To make things easier on OP, mold is unaffected by this since they have their own movement rules being applied every iteration.
The fractal image at a0 now has a gravitational pull. Each iteration all pieces move one square closer to it unless another move is applied to it.
Ideally when it reaches the edge of the board it loops around instead of disappearing.
cd3 and de4 are now seeded with mold getting us a glider which should move diagonally down right.
Dealers choice. Though If anyone wants to save the mold in future moves they could seed new mold spots to make a glider or something.

That was my thinking yes. It also acts as a piece and can move in future iterations.
