I am a native speaker of English and I do the same thing. Granted not as often but I will definitely look up words I don’t know or remember.

You’re on making your understanding of the English language better by looking them up and eventually you won’t need to look them up, you’ll just know them innately.

The dumbest part of this whole story is how they pissed away that kids college funds. NEVER pay medical bills with your own cash in full. Set up a low interest payment plan with the hospital. If the amount is under a grand, you just ignore the letters and calls from the collection agency and it will probably go away. I’ve done it. They aren’t going to sue you unless the amount is really high, probably.

Yup, and McDonald’s employees raises don’t hinge on volume of arrests and number of convictions.

Public transportation in the US is at best, an afterthought. A lot of major cities have buses/trolleys but not many have trains/subways. Only the largest cities have a workable public trans system such as New York, Chicago, San Francisco.
