Apple does contribute to open source though, for example CUPS and Webkit among contributions to projects like Clang. Granted they aren’t benevolent beings by any means, but they do have open source projects that actually benefit people much like Facebook does with zstd.
There is a LOT of Linux and Open Source advocates on the fediverse.
I run my own personal calckey instance (similar to mastodon but with eye candy). I had to federate myself so my feed is mostly people I thought were cool enough to follow and my global feed gets bigger everyday the more I federate. It’s pretty cool butit’s pretty lonely at the start. I’ve used toot.cat in the distance past and it was pretty cool.

I use mine at work to play games while getting paid to do nothing and sometimes having the ability to switch to desktop mode is a life saver. Not to mention that I’m sometimes in hotels for said work.

I have a small and humble set up. Pihole on my old Pi3, OpenMediaVault, Kavita, Qbittorrent on my Pi 4 and my other Pi 4 is running fucked up Lemmy and Mastodon instances because I’m new to this stuff.
I just let it happen in the background while I browse YouTube or the fedi.
Cars and Trucks are so large now because of CAFE and safety regulations. So instead of more regulations to fix regulations let’s get rid of some so people like I can have our glorious small Ford Ranger/Toyota Tacoma’s back.
