Nothing is wrong with it as long as everyone realizes that it isn’t really resistant to enshittification as the network stands now and isn’t meaningfully federated or decentralized yet

Providers have a market incentive to provide the most convenient experience to their patients. The market incentive does not exist for sending information to other providers so they will take the path of least resistance to be compliant with regulation
Lemmy and Mastodon for me. I don’t get a lot of engagement on Mastodon but I never did on twitter either. So Lemmy is probably 90% of my interaction and mastodon is basically an reader for certain hashtags and people on the fedi
The whole point of federation is that content is coming from all sorts of different sources all with different levels of trust.
The default sharing behavior should be the cached version of a post, because the instance you’re on should be trusted to defederated from harmful instances and so that trust should carry over to those you interact with.
It’s like 8 total games. They are probably going for their stupid drip release strategy.
If someone really wants to use the contribution of the expelled maintainers they can just make their own fork. Part of the Free in FOSS is the freedom to associate or not associate with contributors.

After Apollo went down, made me realize how much unnecessary screen time I was wasting my life on. The smaller size and scope of the fediverse is probably better for my mental health than Twitter/Reddit were
I don’t use Reddit whatsoever. Being away from that site for 18 months has really shown how low quality the content there is. I know longer have any desire to ever interact with that site if I can help it, even if the fediverse is missing some of the active niche communities on reddit
!parenting@lemmy.world is pretty active. Doesn’t get a huge amount of discussion threads but when someone starts one they always have plenty of responses.
Buy physical, dump the cart and then install it digitally to whatever damn device I please
A lot of networks were designed with ipv4 and NAT in mind. There really isn’t a cost benefit to migrate all your DHCP scopes, VLANs, Subnets, and firewall rules to IPv6 and then also migrate 1000’s of endpoints to it.
Much cheaper to just disable ipv6 entirely on the internal network (to prevent attacks using a rogue dhcpv6 server etc) and only use ipv6 on your WAN connections if you have to use it.
Try obtaining a Time Machine so that you can experience the menu from when it was good.
The Grilled Stuft Burrito, Grilled Stuft Nacho, the volcano burrito and lava sauce, the 1/2 lb cheesy potato burrito, the enchirito, the loaded grillers, the double layer taco, the chilito.
So many good menu items lost to time
Well said, while I think there a probably caveats (that I don’t have the energy to debate since I mostly agree with you anyway) to each of your solutions, it’s definitely a good starting place to address the underlying issues with the housing market for single family homes
Giving first time home buyer’s assistance just juices demand which would just lead to further increased housing prices.
The supply side is what needs to be addressed, that’s a lot harder though as builders would prefer to build luxury housing as opposed to starter homes.
Buy a gun and then go to the police
The preseason has just begun. We were fairly active last season with several active users. We are looking for returning and new contributors for the upcoming season.
If you play fantasy football, we’d love to have you
The Pi4 USB controller and network adapter share bandwidth. Do you have any devices on the USB port that could be causing collisions? I really can’t think of anything in that kind of scenario that would cause that sort of issue unless somehow you were using USB for video out…
Hog barns or farrowing houses typically don’t have high roofs and you can accommodate more pigs in the same amount of space.
It’s more of how things were engineered and for what uses. IE if the barn is also used for hay or equipment storage in addition to accommodating livestock
