Stimulus checks caused one of the best stock booms of this decade then immediately we had inflation. I don’t think stimulus checks are a well understood phenomenon

I live in a city with elevations and I’m hard pressed to find any MPVs on the road. I see MPV (vans) broken down on the side of the road because they lack the horsepower to go up and down the highway every day. I don’t have an issue with MPVs and wish most short haul businesses used them instead of pick-up trucks, but they just don’t offer the same benefits as an SUV.
I own an SUV (clearly), it gets good mileage (27-34), I travel across the country in it, and I can’t tell you how many times it has been useful on the pavement having that extra power and height for safety reasons. Is the hate on SUVs how big they are? Is it because it’s considered a symbol of status? MPVs are not better mileage wise, unless you are comparing a new MPV to an older 2001 SUV. Hell, Jeeps have the worst MPG and no one is complaining about them.
Why don’t you think an SUV has utility?
I think this is just another news cycle to pit normal citizens against each other to blame for current crisises. Given the utility of an SUV, I assume the difference is marginal.
🤔. If he was driving towards the wall, there would be a larger hole starting from where the top of the gun barrel is. To get such a small hole in the wall as shown in the picture, the driver would have to intentionally articulate the barrels so it enters through the wall at the same position. This doesn’t seem likely though, given the angle and position of the gun.
Isn’t OpenAI also naming their next model Q as well (Q*)? Or is this the same model and OpenAI is licensing to Amazon?
I have run payroll myself. When you run payroll, a company pays taxes to the government. Every paycheck. There are taxes the company is liable for and not employees.
But companies also pay taxes before even paying you. So they’ll pay 140k to pay you 120k which you’ll earn 100k (along those lines)
When he leaves California, he will leave his salary too (and possibly his industry too)
Sorry, my bad. I got to the post from /all and didn’t pay attention to the community, for some reason my old brain thought it was ask lemmy. My bad. Delete my post :)
It’s funny, the same people who told me the same thing spent their whole life saving money. 20 years later they are still saving money and haven’t once traveled the world, still live in the same general area, but still are still saving their money. For what? I don’t know. The most valuable commodity is your youth. Worth much more than $60k or $150k when your bones are withered.

That’s true, but I’d like to think the price of coffee scales where you live. A $5 coffee in Los Angeles is a $2 coffee in Madrid. So in general probably not a big difference wherever you are.
The people who tell you that you are poor because you get coffee at a coffee shop every day. At best you would save ~$2000/year if you bought $5 cup everyday. $2000 saved would not be a significant amount of money to make in an investment either. Personal happiness isn’t worth trying to cut out things you like.
I haven’t done any research on pi-hole (I use firewalla) but is a raspberry Pi even powerful enough to support a small home network?
What kind of CPU/RAM usage for a your unit normally have?
Use localxpose, it’s great and well priced.
