Because opening up the entire interior of the store requires staffing and security… Having a service window with heavy glass and a two way box requires one person who does not need to be able to take care of themselves security wise.

Of course population is far higher, but population density and rail infrastructure efficiency are inextricably linked. I’m not saying Amtrak is anywhere close to as good as it should be, passenger rail, especially commuter rail and high speed rail is a national embarrassment in this country.
That map is on the Amtrak website in an article highlighting areas of planned new development. https://media.amtrak.com/amtrak-connects-us/
This is disingenuous, rail is slower and less accessible than it used to be but ridership is actually higher than ever. That map is from a future plans report highlighting certain routes that are being expanded and added. https://media.amtrak.com/2024/12/amtrak-sets-all-time-ridership-record-in-fiscal-year-2024/ https://media.amtrak.com/amtrak-connects-us/
I drive a 20 ton vehicle with dual rear tires, it gets about 4 mpg. I don’t own a car though.
(I drive a city bus)
I would assume access to modern airplanes.
Fenix makes a few that are like what you’re looking for, I have two, one has one big button on the back and one on the side, the back button is a simple on off and the side button cycles the power settings, if you hold down on the smaller side button it goes to strobe instantly. The other is basically the same but both buttons are on the back and the smaller button toggles strobe by pressing it when the flashlight is off vs cycles power settings when the flashlight is on. I only buy flashlights that are set up like this or similar. I need to be able to access strobe instantly and I need to be able to turn it on and off at a low power setting without turning on the fire of a thousand suns to get there.
The planes are unhealthy, maybe making the employees unhealthy too will help balance things out.
What the fuck are you talking about? Stealing from a corporation and stealing from people is absolutely not the same. Corporations are not people I can’t believe we still have to argue this point.
Also of course the law takes the merit of the victim into account. Half of all homicide victims are black but in 75% of executions for homicide the victim was white. And how many of those do you think were homeless or sex workers? Don’t be ridiculous, the law is not applied equally for victims or for defendants. Assaulting a cop, on duty or not is not treated the same as assaulting a BIPOC sex worker. Every goddamn time there’s a mass shooting or another cop kills another black person why is the first thing they do to try to find some evidence of dirt on the victims regardless of the relevance to the actual case. You are living in a dream world.
Also… What the hell are you coming at me for about this? I never even argued the ACTUAL SENTENCING was unreasonable?!? (I think it’s unjust, but not unreasonable, but I said nothing of that in my comment). I just thought it was batshit insane that you were out for blood for this person and felt they should go away for half a fucking generation for “grand shoplifting”
Lol, America has more legal slaves than it did before the civil war and has higher incarceration rate than anywhere and you want to lock someone up for a decade for non-violent property crime where the only victim is a multibillion dollar corporation that she stole less than 100k from.
https://violationtracker.goodjobsfirst.org/parent/target Here’s records of target having stolen 185 million dollars mostly from the American public, how long do you think anyone was in prison for that? Do you think any penalty there even meaningfully affected any executive or major shareholders life?
They have to think they’re fighting NATO to feel better about how badly they’re doing
Please don’t bring NASA into this, the space program benefitted the lives of basically everyone on earth in incredible incalculable and calculable ways, from contributing to the peaceful collapse of the Soviet Union to countless technologies developed for it and as a result of it, to the birth of the environmental movement and a massive influx in people going into STEM. The US space program has probably done more for your health than socialized medicine would.
All of which is not to say that America is doing great and it shouldn’t have socialized healthcare, but simply to say, keep our Apollo’s name out of your mouth.
I know this is NCD but ability to make a dirty bomb or deploy WMDs on the battlefield or in strategic theater use is not at all the same thing as MAD. Iraq had no space program, no long range strategic bombers, no nothing of the sort. (They also didn’t have WMDs at that point in time though so…). The concern was that Iraq could use WMDs to harm its neighbors, its own populace, or to enable terrorist groups to use smuggled WMDs. Even the WMD tipped SCUDS Iraq used to have were no real threat to the US troops.
N-Gage 2 confirmed
Yeah, it’s just called bombing, one way or another you’ll get your antidepressants paid for.
Psh, you had to Google to know that? You never found out for yourself? Kids these days.
I started using complex fiber supplements (as in whole dried ground foods with multiple sources and types of fiber) about a month ago, honestly life changing, cannot recommend enough.
Fuck Chick-fil-A aside, I have no problem with kids having an experience where they learn to respect the work that goes into stereotypically “unskilled” labor.
That’s fair
