    Could you teach a cat to use a train? Like, imagine you had a bunch of time and money, and make a miniature subway system, complete with stops. And then you somehow teach the cat how to tell one stop from the other. Would it actually eventually understand and ride it?

      I don’t see why not. Cats can easily learn how to communicate using those voice buttons, so if the subway system has voice announcements for each “station”, like this dude did, a cat could absolutely be trained (heh) to associate the name of the station with whatever area that station is in.

      Dogs on the Moscow Metro already do this, and there have even been sporadic reports of pigeons riding the NYC subway and getting off exactly where they want to.
