    Kinda also an indictment of how much we pay teachers and firefighters.

      But if we pay the teachers more then we have to raise taxes and then we have to pay everybody else more and that would really cut into our profit margins which would upset the shareholders.

      Better if we just didn’t educate the children.

      Unless they go to private school, of course. Those kids are the future, after all.

        Also worth mentioning one additional thing. Those shareholders are often not just rich people but also people like you and I investing in our 401K, RRSP, GIC, etc.

        It’s a royal “we” problem and this is where you get the fingers in the ears and the downvotes because of ignorance.

        Yes, rich people are a problem but the system on a whole that we all take advantage of is broken. We need to start thinking differently.

          The issue is Republicans hate people and liberals want the privilege without sacrificing anything. You can’t fix that.
