Niche communities aren’t taking off as well as I’d like, but I’ve enjoyed these past few months on my different accounts.

However, I’ve recently noticed an increase in the kind of behaviors that made me quit Reddit in the first place (more trolls, brigaders, smarter/holier-than-thou types, you name it…) If this trend doesn’t pass, or worsens, I’ll have to expand my blocklist or just be more active on my accounts made on instances blocking those I see as problematic. That’s a good point for Lemmy when you think about it; just having to jump ship instead of abandoning sailing altogether.

I don’t want for children to be used or exposed, I want for adults to ensure their protection actually; that’s why I think it’s the easy choice you’re making, because it’s easier to appease the country’s bigots than to safeguard children of gay parents. I’d also like to point that refusing them to be adopted by a ready and able to care for them family is harming children in its own way.

I understand the second part of your comment, Poland’s context and all. However, I’m not convinced by the soundness of a slow progressive approach at a time when there’s an international organized effort from the right to ensure their hold on, or grasp as much power as they can…

Being supportive of denying rights to loving couples instead of proactively fighting to change the mentalities appears as the easy, comfortable solution.

Revelations: Persona.

No, the Persona series didn’t start with 3. There were three episodes before it (one 1, and two 2s 🤓 [did I mention the prototype, Shin Megami Tensei: If?]), and Revelations is the Americanized version of the very first Persona, with characters suddenly becoming hamburger-eaters in an American town, and at least one of them doing a reverse Michael Jackson.

Even for the elitists who spit on what the series has become under the direction of Katsura Hashino, Revelations isn’t liked that much, thanks to the localization and the amputated Snow-Queen quest. Nevertheless, I enjoy this game partly for its peculiar 90s charm (dubious localization included; it was the style at the time), and partly because of the qualities that survived the ocean crossing, like the OST and that sweet, grindy hardcore gameplay.

Batbarian: Testament of the Primordials. A metroidvania with a strong emphasis on puzzle-solving, but other elements of the genre are not left behind: there’s hair-pulling platforming sections, and boss fights that’ll leave you bald.

The particularity of this game lies in Pip, our light-emitting bat companion. We don’t control her directly, but we can influence her behavior by throwing different types of fruits. And it’s with her light and the throwing ability that we’ll solve most puzzles.

It’s honestly a tough game, especially in its second half if you go for completion (I have two left hands, and have shed tears of blood…), but there’s plenty of accessibility options like slowing time when throwing a fruit or multiplying your attack, that’ll let you tweak your experience to match with your ability level.

Besides, It’s a genuinely well written comedic game with good world-building, and it has a killer soundtrack with a distinctive 80s flair 😊

@can@sh.itjust.works @neomis@sh.itjust.works In that case, you don’t need your instance to be federated; if you simply want to check on the latest nonsense, you can directly access the “enemy’s” instance. And what’s more, you won’t have to wonder if their content has been properly federated (missing posts or comments), or if someone from there blocked you.

I have a workaround: enter an email address, even a fake one like aaa@bbb.xyz, then save the change. Now, erase the address, click on “Delete Account”, and the page shouldn’t reload because a missing email error (don’t have the exact formulation in mind) should be notified. After inputting your password in the new textbox asking for it, don’t forget to re-enter the mail address before confirming the deletion.

Essentially, I have no tolerance for lies (dis/misinformation, deceit…) and hatred (discrimination, apology of violence…); there’s a trove of that on lemmygrad *cough* and exploding-heads *cough*.
