  • It doesn’t really matter, because you know What? The rebels didn’t use starlink in Syria, and you ended up having to run anyway.
Face it Russia, you are losing the war, your army will ultimately have to withdraw, your economy is collapsing as we speak, Putin will be overthrown and the Russian federation will fall apart.
And no it’s not because Ukraine has missiles and drones that can reach into Russia. It’s because Putin started a moronic war, thinking it was easy money for him and his oligarchs.
Russia is already set back a decade economically, and the power balance where Russia is becoming more insignificant compared to China, is probably accelerated by several decades. Russia proving to be a poor supplier of weapons, and a poor ally militarily, and economically more insignificant than ever. Russia is only valuable to China now as a vassal state.

Compare that to the possibility Russia had when Russia worked on getting closer to the west after the fall of Gorbachev and becoming a democracy, If they had continued along that path, Russia would almost without a doubt be the biggest and most influential economy in Europe now.
Instead Putin chose to reverse course, and destroy Russian democracy and relations with Europe and the west.

Russia is only complaining about starlink, because they essentially have no idea what’s going on, how they ended up in this mess, and why it’s going so bad for them. And most of all they don’t know how to get out of this mess, without all the consequences tumbling down on their heads.

  • Don’t you mean underestimate? Maybe, I can’t say I’m familiar with how Russians states feel regarding their “Russian Nationality”. But we know for a fact that the populations of many regions wanted out of the Soviet Union. Like Kazakhstan, Belarus, Ukraine, Georgia and more.
The Russian federation is becoming very unattractive, with an economy in ruins, and a military that cannot ensure safety for the outer regions.
The Russian federation consist of several people, that could quickly develop a desire for independence, like happened when the Soviet Union collapsed.

Edit: Oh sorry, I thought you meant it as nationality, but apparently you mean it as merely people, why not just write that then?
A bit confusing that you use a Russian term.

No I’m not underestimating the Russian people, they rebelled against communism as soon as a windows of opportunity showed itself.
And as stated above, many left the union too, when that opportunity arose.
The same will happen again, because Russia is still a fractured nation.

  • You misunderstand the situation IMO. The Russian federation collapse is because they can’t keep enduring the war. Their economy is collapsing, and when reality dawns on the Russians, Respect for Putin will vanish. And with it, the respect for the Russian federation. And that’s what will make the federation collapse.

Many estimate that Russia will only be able to endure until summer maybe a year. This is for different reasons, but IMO the economic downturn or collapse is what will end the ability for Russia to fight on.
The Russian population is only now beginning to feel the consequences of the war, because Putin has flooded the country with money, but the economy cannot satisfy demand, and now steep inflation eats the gains people have received. It’s like a law of physics, you repair a broken economy by pouring money into it, it will only increase inflation, and make it worse.

  • Lot’s of things were going on in the 70’s. The peace movement, people living together in collective housing, higher sexual freedom and more flexible sexual identity, generally rebelling against authorities, cannabis becoming popular. All this was also expressed in art, music, paintings and movies.

In UK this may have been further emphasized by a very backwards school system, with many attending boarding schools and wearing uniforms.
Something I remember when attending public school in Denmark in the 70’s as extremely backwards compared to conditions here.

I think older generations hated the 70’s, and they are probably still remembered as being a bit silly. But they are also remembered for being a time of optimism, where ideals and hopes for a better future were high.

  • The level of sociopathy and incompetence Putin shows, letting hundreds of thousands of his people die for nothing is staggering.
Putin will go down in history as maybe the worst and surely the most incompetent sociopath the world has ever seen.
Putin is a totally incompetent Hitler wannabe.

If it wasn’t so evil and sad that Ukraine has to endure this, Putin would be the laughing stock of the entire world.

I’m sorry this isn’t very constructive, I just needed to vent a little.

    Slava Ukraini.
