  • In steamos, you have what is called an immutable file system. This means if you try to install anything outside of a flat pack in the user directory it gets wiped on updates and maybe reboots. This is probably because the VPN is trying to install something lower than the user level and so it breaks, and so it’s only working temporarily. Idk though.

You have basically two options. You can hack steamOS a bit, mount the system as rewritable, and install an overlay file system, and write a system D script to do this at boot, but a better way would be to download bazzite and install it on your steam deck. It has a ostree file system which is annoying in its own way but it’s relatively easy to install software and modify the system with. All you really have to do is follow a guide on the internet to download the ISO, copying it to a thumb drive, and boot using the power+volume down key to install it.

This will solve most of your issues, but you have to learn to use the fedora system which is a bit different mainly that you use rpm-ostree to install software rpm files if you don’t have a flat pack.

Flatpacks are great for many things, but for installing lower level stuff you might need to install it to the actual system with rpm-ostree in fedora or pacman or whatever in arch which is what the native steam deck is built on if you have the hack in place.

You can also try another VPN which might work better. It may or may not work.

I would just install bazzite until steamdeck catches up a bit. Get KDE if you want a steam deck like experience.

Also after bazzite, id get protonup-qt, to install proton-GE versions which make some games run work much better due to it’s better .net implementation and shader code. Bazzite also has a better flat pack repository out of the box. The steamdeck repositories have a lot of common software missing.

You should also overclock the CPU to 4.0 ghz which should be stable on most decks. I wouldn’t mess with the voltages because this causes issues in many games. Don’t do this before you install an operating system, do it and rest for a few days with a known working config to make sure it’s not crashing more often. This overclock will help many games run much better, especially sim and strategy games. The option to change this is (fClockMaxOverride), and the value that you would set is 4000 you have to patch the bios, maybe downgrade it, and download a tool called smokeless_UMAF to do this. I downgraded my bios using steam deck bios manager to 106, and used some script I forget to patch it to unlock the debug options. Bios 106 which gives the best compatibility with overclocking in my experience. This won’t make the GPU any better which is the main bottleneck in most games, and overclocking the GPU in my experience caused thermal throttling and stuttering, but overclocking the CPU is a nice boost in many games and also improves the feel of the device. If you combine this with smokeless_UMAF you can add 2 w to the tdp, 2w in my experience is about all you can add before getting your SoC in the 90+ range, but you also have to write a systemD script to use ryzenadj to set this on boot, or use a desktop script to set the TDP in the desktop. Every time you open the bios however without snoklessUMAF, if sets the max TDP back to 15.

I also disabled performance limitations reason, which allows the GPU and CPU to draw the full 17w. If you need help with any of this feel free to message me and I’ll get back to you when I can.

For right now, if that seems like too much, you should just try to get bazzite on a USB.

Personally what I do is I use a windows PC to format it into fat or fat32 or whatever the thumb drive needs. You can do this in Linux but I always have issues trying to format drives into fat on linux, I use a program off the flat pack store or whatever to copy the ISO.

Then I go into the bios and disable TPM, and if available on some systems, disable uefi, and go back to legacy boot, and install bazzite. (UEFI and TPM are trash) Disabling either of these will likely break whatever OS you are currently running.

Then in the setup after you boot from the USB, you need to set it up to delete everything on the drive, and then let it auto install on the drive. After you install, let it sit for a while and you can install some of your stuff like firefox and log into your stuff. Then shut the machine down fully and repower it if you decide to do any updates. This really helps.

Install proton-GE, maybe think downgrading your bios or overclocking. Set up your extra drives on steam. Ask chatGPT to help you understand how to add your drives to auto mount with the fstab file lol, oh Linux. You don’t have to do that immediately. Maybe a project one day.

Anyways like I said, hmu if you need help.

  • You need to keep in mind that everything on the internet is surveiled these days, and there is a strong possibility that your local police department will find out about you buying these things. You can get in serious trouble like years in prison trouble with years of probation and fees after you get out, and prison and probation is not a good place to be. If you are going to sell weed, you need to evaluate the cost benefits analysis of this. How much money do you honestly expect to make to balance the huge risk you are taking? Selling slightly above the cost is not worth it. If you are going to sell weed then you probably should try to make a lot of money off of it and then quit while you are ahead. This can maybe make the risk worth it if you value your limited years on this earth in money. Personally I’d rather just work a normal job, and just buy weed. It’s extremely cheap. I don’t smoke anymore but the amount of weed id have to grow to make this a rational decision was not something I was willing to do. Also I don’t want to live in prison for years eating bologna sandwiches made by drug addicts. Prisons are disgusting and horrible places.

  • Most learn at home. Firing a firearm accurately does require some practice and skill. Shotguns are the easiest, pistols are by far the hardest. In an enclosed space though it isn’t that hard to hit a human sized target. Most people who shoot guns probably know how they work. They aren’t all that complicated. Usually just safety, a mekanism to cock it, a trigger, and a magazine release. It doesn’t take that much training to learn how to shoot something a few feet away from you. It does take a bit to hit targets further away than say 25 feet. This is often why cops end up smoking gangsters. Many gangsters don’t practice with their firearms and cops do, so in a ranged fight, cops usually win.

Hitting a moving target is difficult. Most people don’t realize how easy it is to actually take down an armed person who isn’t skilled and practices things like the 30 ft rule which most cops will practice. (If you get within 30 ft, they will assume you can disarm them before they can land their first shot) Aiming usually takes a few seconds if you want to land your hits, even with a stationary target 25ft away. Some people practice a lot and john wick it, but real shooting is more like an entire body composure, carefully leveling the sights, squeezing, not pulling the trigger (rookie mistake) because if you pull the trigger too fast you will miss unless someone is very close to you.

I’m just a regular nonbinary person, I learned to shoot skeets out of the air before I hit puberty. I can throw up a soda can and shoot it with a shotgun. I practiced a lot and hunted a lot. (Not into hunting these days because I’m a different person, and love animals) I might if I were hungry enough.

  • You would have to get a grinder and basically grind them out and refill them and paint over them. It’s pretty hard to get rid of it because it’s oxidation so it’s creating a new chemical compound with the material that the good is made of. I’d probably just get a sander, sand it down to where most of its gone without putting a depression in it, and then paint over it with two or three coats of paint. Then wait a year, sand it back down and paint over it again if it starts to flake, but if you sand it down well you probably won’t have to worry about it again. Not a huge deal, having rust on the frame can be bad though.

  • The number who will be accepting of it is probably like 15% or so. This is the amount of women who identify as bisexual, which probably is about the same as women who view feminine men as attractive. It really depends. If you are feminine but still masculine in ways, you might actually have the majority of women liking you. I am a very andro guy for example when I guy mode and also fairly attractive and nearly half of women I meet show some interest in me although usually not knowing that Im actually trans. If you are decent looking and take care of yourself. Eat well, wear sunscreen outside, things like this. However when you are doing it in a very open sort of way, half of women just won’t have attraction and probably 2/3rds of the ones who do will be too afraid of the social ramifications to actually admit they like you and pursue it. You can also be andro without being very girly. A guy wearing a skirt is kind of weird. You are better off actually growing your hair out and leaning more into one side of the other. Either be a pretty guy, or a pretty girl. You can do both on different days. You can mix them in ways but you have to have a good eye for it. Things like skinny jeans, nice cut shirts, long hair, shaving your body, jewelry, women shoes, these types of things can fit well into a more masculine style. If you are wearing a skirt though you should probably be looking more like a girl then a guy in your face and stuff. At that point you probably want to dress mostly fem and maybe incorporate some guy style into your style if youd like. Tshirts, beanies, hoodies, skate shoes whatever.

Regardless that is still tens of millions of people, your chances aren’t impossible. Women don’t care about this stuff nearly as much as guys do. They don’t feel as awkward about it. Most women who have a strong distaste of it are probably on the dumber side anyways. They will make bad partners. They are also probably gold diggers and stuff. Those traits tend to run together. Also as we move into the future it’s only going to become more common because humans are naturally fairly bi and gender fluid by nature outside of the conditioning and gender ideology pushed by some people. Feminine men are honestly just superior in nearly every way to modern male styles and it will keep coming back. Men dressing the way they do is a very modern concept. Outside of the Middle East and Arab cultures men didn’t even like having beards or anything. It used to be a sign of laziness and trashiness. Men nowadays are pretty insecure about their masculinity. They drive around in rich people trucks and live lifestyles of extreme wealth, and play video games and work in offices, and stuff and so they project their own insecurities onto other men. Most men who are actually manly men don’t give af about someone being gender fluid or anything. It’s really the spoiled ones who are like that. Women mostly don’t like it because of physical attraction, and because many women idolize the idea of being a housewife and marrying a rich man who will take care of them and stuff. I know none of this has anything to do a guy dressing fem, but many people are really dumb and they think those things are linked. They never really consider that a man who is fem is incredibly brave and value and principles driven. They are very likely to be someone who actually takes care of someone. To be a good husband. There is also just that so many people, especially women fear that a man being fem is going to doom him to poverty, and women tend to weigh things like earning potential strongly in mate selection.

  • Downlaod managers can work with most downloads. If a site is really badly coded it still wont work. Bittorrent is good for this. I recomend qbittorrent on linux/windows, or flud on android.

With bittorrent you want to configure your settings. Set you max upload to half of what your connections upload speed is, or lower, you might have to experiment with this to see what your router and connection can handle. Activate “exit on finish” limit your max connections to 50-100 if you dont have a router with a strong CPU. Enable “require encryption” or use encryption and dont allow non encrypted connections. (Keeps your isp from throttling and helps keep you safer) Disable automatic start when you device boots up (very important)

Then you are all set. Just remember to make sure you dont run it all the time, bittorrent is hard on your router, not that it will mess it up but it will load up the CPU, honestly not much worse then windows built in spyware these days, and try to place the files where you actually want them when creating a download, so that you can reupload to the world. If you move the files after downloading them, then the client cant reupload to other users. You could even consider setting your max upload slots to something reasonable like 24 with a max upload rate of 200 KB/s, and let it run all the time. Be careful when hosting copyrighted content unless you have a VPN always active. You really should these days, they are cheap. I think i payed $80 for a year of proton VPN, a swiss company that isnt as beholden to the giant global intelligence network. You should also support artists so dont pirate unless you dont have a good option for getting your content. Pirated content also has a risk of containing malware and getting you sued.

As someone who lives in the U.S and is always on the road for work, i constantly have to deal with terrible and 3rd world internet infastructure. I am very familiar. Half of my state has about a 40% packet loss rate or something. Idk. Its bad. It drops out completly multiple times per day, cell towers, ISPs, credit card machines, etc. Sometimes you might just need to download from a better connection in another part of your state or something.

I dont have any recomendations for a download manager for PC, but for android ADM, advanced download manager seems to work well. On PC i usually just use torrents. Using a VPN in exclusivly TCP mode can also help, UDP is a lower latency lossy connection, TCP will resend packets until all of them get through. Using a vpn with TCP can help if you have a crappy connection. It wont help much if you are getting multi second drop outs. For that you really need bittorrent, or a download manager. If the zite doesnt work with download managers, and you cant get a torrent, you can try to find a mirror of the download somewhere else. Tey searching for the file name in quotes, like “filename.zip” and then use -website name to remove results from spammy sites. A search might be like, ( “filename.zip” -website1.com -website2.com )
