Cars shouldn’t have internet and there should be less cars. In total absence of offline cars (meaning no used cars, nothing at all), use bikes and public transportation if you can.
I mean you literally asked for an alternative and I gave you one.

Nations east of Germany will never abandon Ukraine, save Hungary and Slovakia which are already doing so. But western and southern Europe are already doing that because we’re privileged cunts who will probably not even be bombed in the event of a war with Muscovy. Even as Muscovy is sabotaging our shit, something we would have never allowed 10 years ago. We honestly shoukd probably get bombed ffs we kinda deserve it.
Meanwhile somewhere out in the world a poor lad born in '69 whose parents decided to call him Pant Sniffer is crying as the tiny 'puter people think he’s just a shitposter instead of a loving and caring fella.
EuroNutellaMan@lemmy.worldto Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Why are so many Pro-Palestine (I am pro-Palestine and anti-genocide) Americans refusing to vote for Harris due to her stance on Israel?68·9 months agoThey can’t be arsed to choose pragmatically between two bad candidates when voting and we’re to believe they can do a revolution that involves several harder choices? Do these people think revolutions are easy walks in the park where you never have to make hard choices like, for example, killing your neighbors for being in the way of the revolution or how to handle POWs, etc.
Some people assume that voting and political activism are mutually exclusive, these people are stupid and won’t win a revolution. These two things are not mutually exclusive, voting doesn’t stop you from protesting and being politically engaged and vice versa.

Syncthing - A godsend for me and I can’t believe how easy it is to set up and have it just work, I was almost disappointed when I was setting it up expecting issues and then the mf just works perfectly fine without issue
Tailscale - Very useful to remotely ssh to my computer(s) even from my phone
Termux - terminal on android
This one you may have heard of and it’s not exactly niche, indie or small but I’ll add it anyways just in case: Too Good To Go - allows you to get cheap food and save it from going to waste. I use it a lot when I can’t go to the university cafeteria and don’t feel like cooking
Ok so this still sacrifices usability for me
EuroNutellaMan@lemmy.worldto Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Is there such a thing as a bullshit-free news agency?3·11 months agoGenerally just use multiple sources, I used Ground News for quite a while.
Every news outlet will have their biases, that is completely normal everyone has biases, even when you have multiple people reviewing the content, only a fraud will tell you they’re completely unbiased. So just seek multiple sources, preferably from also multiple countries and languages when applicable.
EuroNutellaMan@lemmy.worldto Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Is there such a thing as a bullshit-free news agency?2·11 months agoeveryone has and always had an agenda.
Aside from that, generally I can agree, the commodification of news and profit-seeking, as often is the case, have ruined everything.
If I may ask, what are you switching to? cause in terms of privacy (without sacrificing usability and other important factors) the phone market looks like a hot pile of garbage. Well I guess FairPhones exist and they’re about as good as you can get but still runs android.
After spending some time volunteering in Ukraine I concluded that probably the best option to ethically buy clothes might just be to buy the Made in UA clothes from Ukrainian local stores tbh.

Some people here say space, but anything that takes you to space contains microplastics, in fact you yourself contain microplastic. The only way to avoid microplastics is simply to not exist at all. And I don’t mean dying, when you die you still have microplastics in your body.

Just cause you opt out of those features doesn’t mean the car doesn’t have other mandatory shit that connects to the internet to, say, sell data like the exact times and locations of when you have sex.
Inb4 “but I don’t have to worry about it cause I don’t have sex” we know, but that’s not the only thing they gather data on.
