Hello I am new, confused and excited about Lemmy! I like the vibes.
I still have dvds and a dvd player like an old person for just this reason.
This is going to be a weird suggestion, but I used to do professional stage makeup including wigs and bald caps. Has your mom considered getting a partial wig? Maybe a Mohawk or side hawk? It would have to be glued by a professional hair stylist, but it would be an excellent way to have hair but without sweating under a wig. Best of luck to your mom! Losing hair sucks.
I think it was either frogger on the Commodore or a handful of early Atri games. (I am old and will die soon.)
This is what I did, except I’m in the USA. I had to contact the FCC directly because my phone and internet provider just pretty much quit working. Turns out they were doing repairs in our area and just didn’t tell anyone to expect interruptions. If your ISP won’t take you seriously now, they will if you file an informal complaint with the FCC or other comparable agency.
He is the Senator from PA. He was super liberal up until he had a stroke and then became super conservative. Complete 180. Seems to have knocked out his sense of humor too. Now it seems he’s taking risks he would not have taken pre stroke by driving recklessly.
Not OP but I can visualize great, still have no sense of direction.
No. Not a tankie. It would be nice if autocorrect let me type tankie and not talkie. I had to cut and paste it I’m not proud.
When poeple went on political rants at work I would say “let’s play a game. It’s called Don’t Talk Politics at Work. I’ll go first!” Then I would shut up, turn around and keep on working. Just replace politics with whatever. It’s low key funny with a deadpan delivery so I’ve never had anyone get mad at me for it.
We are getting summer temps here, which is highly unusual. What really worries me is that, on the hot days, it’s not cooling down at night. I had to install my air conditioner. In the mountains, in MAY. East coast so we are getting humidy as well.
Also spring is normally so wet here we call it mud season, but this year it’s been so dry we’ve had forest fire within forty miles of my house. Something normally wouldn’t even worry about until August.
I’m am very scared for the future.
Do you have any friends or family that could leave reviews or contact the manager about her? I agree that customers complaints might have more weight. Maybe have a friend ask to speak to the manager when she pulls something visable. That way your hands are clean and management has no reason to single you out.
I went to therapy for almost this exact reason. I will tell you what my therapist told me. Just because these terrible things are happening, doesn’t mean you can’t have meaning and joy in your life. It can be hard to feel grateful, it can be hard to feel happy, during such times, but it’s possible. I would suggest reaching out to a professional if you can afford it.
It can be, parts for RVs can be very expensive. I paid over 400$ for a new water heater for mine. And we were just living in one while we built our house, no engine maintenance required. Also god help you if the onboard AC breaks. Difficult and costly to fix.
You can be a totally happy weirdo in the future for sure. I’m autistic as well, diagnosed as an adult. It might take you longer to find something you don’t mind doing for work, or to form lasting friendships, but it’s totally possible.
For context I am almost 40 year old women. Okay, so I like to watch gaming videos on youtube. Markipler, Let’s Game it Out, CallmeKevin, RT game, Dunkey, y’know moslty geared towards kids, young adult gaming content. I never do this unless I am home alone because I don’t think anyone would get why I’m watching an adult man play a wrestling game with his bright red, 20 foot tall wrestler named Johnny Hotbody.
That’s how I felt getting on regular iron supplements. This is how normal people feel all the time!? This is amazing!
It is the norm. I worked with a man who had seizeres and no health insurance. The first time he was introduced to me he said “Hi, I’m Tony. Listen, I have seizures. If I have one, DO NOT call an ambulance, no matter what. I can’t afford it.” He told us even if it looked like he was dying, to just let him go because he could never afford the bills if he lived.
This wasn’t some crappy part time job, this was my first big girl real job after graduating college. Like welcome to adulthood, you might have to helplessly watch your coworker die at your place of employment!
Hey man I loved seeing your posts, but I understand if you need to stop to take care of yourself. Thanks for making my days a little more surreal.
This is probably the best advice here. I’m rooting for you guys. Stay safe and do what you got to do.
Unfortunately, I think your best move would be to flee the country by any means necessary. Do you have any relatives or friends who live abroad? Even if you are sleeping on a air mattress on someone’s living room floor, it would be an improvement. I do not think the conditions in your home country will improve anytime soon.
Sometimes I just want to go back to bed, and never leave it again. No more going to work, no more grocery shopping, no more chores, just me laying in my bed cozy and warm.
