  • Ukraine did what they had they to do. It’s only commendable how fast Ukraine did it, and how long they have lasted. Now they are strategically withdrawing following the flow of war and recent events.

Also quote: " We have no wish to occupy this territory,” Zelenskyy’s aide Mykhailo Podolyak told the Guardian in late August. “Our tasks are to push Russian artillery and other systems further away, destroy the warehouses and other military infrastructure that is there, and also to affect public opinion in Russia.”

(ed): Found recently this explanation Ukraine matters YT

  • EU to act with haste and avoid putting their heads in the sand.

This is 200% needed, I believe for sure, something ( hopefully big) is in the making.

Northern European citizens seem certainly in favor. To me, the Southern-Europe stance is less clear.

Also, afaik, all EU( Orbán probably not?), UK, Australia, Canada and Turkya acknowledge Zelensky as the current democratic elected president, and have send out press-releases. They are trying to pressure Trump’s administration. We’ll probably know much more after de German election, because they are waiting for them to go forward. Merz seems to be the favorite, and he promised a more proactive stance.

But, these are all words, now we need also concrete material actions using a win-win strategy. We all need to remain souverign and so we hope.

  • I read something in foxnews searching the net (not the most reliable source). But it creates a context to what Trump’s thinking.

" Russia has insisted it will not sign a peace agreement until Ukraine agrees to hold elections, and the U.S. is now “floating” the idea of a three-stage plan:"

    • ceasefire,
    • then Ukrainian elections,
    • then inking of a peace.

Trump’s trying to arrange nr 2, by insulting Zelensky about being a dictator and forcing elections

Trump is doing the work for Ruzzia, so fuck him. Ukraine won’t accept this and neither will Europe.

  • The Xmas tree probably originates from the Nordic" Tree of life ". I remember reading it was used to celebrate life and the return of light during the dark cold winters in the north

To celebrate and remember the return of the sun in the dark Winter, lights were used to chase away the dark; green as a symbol of returning life, like vegetation and plants, and red probably symbolises fruit and harvest.

There are several versions and interpretations, so it probably depends on the country or region the tree was used, and in which century.

Santa Claus ( yes, created in USA by Coca-Cola), was /is originally Saint Nicolaus, which in turn was probably merged with Wodan This is the same God as in Wednes-day ( was originally Wodan’s day, a Nordic God; just like Thursday, was originally Thor’s day ).

Many old Germanic/Nordic religions ( they were very similar) were integrated with Christian symbolism and rituals by the Roman Catholic Church.

Check this link for more general info.

Also because of the ancient Dark versus Light theme, there is definitely an association with the Wild Hunt

In the Norse myths, the original leader of the hunt was the god Odin, known in Germanic myth as Wodan. Odin rode his eight-legged horse, called Sleipnir. His company of hunters were the Valkyries and the dead warriors who resided with him in Valhalla.

The gifts placed in the Christmas trees have also an association as an offering / gift " to forefathers who fell as warriors, and or offering to “the wild hunt” and it’s phantoms, as a sort of guarantee you wouldn’t invoke their wrath and be taken by them to the phantom realm.

Saint Nicolaus in it’s older manifestation had a stronger dark and light side. His demons where probably black or dark, like we see in Austria, Kruppe and Black Pete in the Netherlands/ Flanders region.
