It would help if there was unique animations each time, but it’s the same exact movement that makes it get tiresome.
I got a zero weight mod so I wouldn’t need to bother with inventory management.
Games that give you rapid and fun ways to travel have been ones that I’ve actually not found tedious to get from point a to point b. Methods I’ve like have been blink (teleporting short distances), grapple hook, super speed, flying, etc.
But, just old fashioned running or driving gets stale fast.
Yeah, I’ve played up to Yakuza Kiwami 2 so now gearing up to play through 3-5. Excited for it. The games side quests are so fun and wacky.
There’s some mods that make it easier that might help.
Yakuza 0. Had a PS4, but wanted to play it on the PC instead so kept waiting hoping it would be ported to the PC. It later then did and I waited longer for a price drop and it ended up showing up on a Humble Bundle so finally snatched it years later.
It was worth the wait. Very enjoyable and I did all the side quests. Cabaret club was an amazing part of the game.
Samsung handles it well since it lets you hide the cut out on a per app basis, and doesn’t push down the status bar either. Just blacks it out while keeping all the time and notifications still there.
So watching 21:9 with that option makes it so the notch doesn’t become part of the video.
But, Oneplus 7 pro handled it the best with the pop up camera.
I’ve been thinking about getting an apple watch just for Apple pay and a cheap iPhone to set it up, since you can use the Apple watch to pay without internet or the iPhone after set up. Then I could root and stuff on my phone without having to rely on safety net anymore for wallets.
Samsung handles it nice where you can hide the cutout on a per app basis, and doing so doesn’t move the status bar down but keeps it where it is. With the amoled display it looks like a normal status bar with the notch or pinhole camera not being obvious.
I’m not sure why some phones don’t give that option, since if you do they shift down the status bar below the notch instead of just turning it black. Such a simple software solution.
I meant phones when I mentioned volume and power button.
I’d rather have that return than have a foldable.
Screen scanners seem much more sensitive to dry and callused fingers than dedicated finger print scanners of old. Some can’t even use it because their skin texture isn’t picking it up well, or have to do things like lick their finger before using which is gross. I miss the power button scanners or rear ones.
Depends one what function. Volume and power on a phone I find better than touch controls, since I can control it without looking. And do things like hold the power button to turn of flash light or double tap power button to bring up camera. No need for screen to have been on.
For more complicated UI then touchscreen is better with it being more dynamic like selecting songs.
Going to be nice not have baby the phone so much and do stuff like limiting it to 85%. And then having to go to a phone store to replace the battery because taking it apart can break the screen. And the cost making you rethink replacing the battery and just going for a newer phone.

Benefit comes after the initial purchase whether you got it pre-built or made it yourself. Since then you can upgrade parts as needed after instead of doing one large system upgrade. So just buying a GPU if that’s what you need to upgrade instead of buying a whole new system. Or just dropping in a new CPU if your motherboard supports multiple generations like the AMD boards.
It’s one of those big impacts you see going with a replaceable desktop pc over a laptop. Especially if gaming, since if you find you want a a faster cpu or GPU now your only option is just buying a whole new brand new one paying for all the other parts again.
I wait for deals and keep track of prices through price tracking sites. I might decide I want more ssd or nvme storage, and then I’ll wait. Then price starts to turn like it is now and suddenly I can get more TBs for the same amount of money.
Same for phones. I’ll decide I want to upgrade then wait for deals to pop up that hits my price range. Same for GPU. Same for TV. Same for games.
I don’t make impulse purchasing decisions. I make a decision then wait for the market to start shifting to a price I feel like paying. Sometimes I wait a year sometimes longer. I don’t feel like I intentionally go for a furgal low end or mid range option, since for me some things are worth paying more for. But, I avoid paying retail.
I hope moving communities and accounts from different instances becomes possible. I would like to see communities start moving away congregating on the largest instance, and instead maybe start joining instances based on topic. So all music related instances whether it be specific genres or bands go to a music instance. And tv show ones go to an entertainment instance. So everything just kind of becomes categorized into something easier follow and find when it comes to looking for new communities.
I have a S23U and edge panels to open up new apps and one hand operation + to make gestures from the edges helps me navigate with one hand.
