I agree if “the employer” is a faceless corporation, someone who didn’t know you. But if it was your manager and you had a good working relationship why wouldn’t they give you a good reference? It’s not their profit margin, they just work there too.

Someone might have already mentioned it, but M.2 is just a physical connector. You can have M.2 SATA or M.2 NVME drives. Prefer NVME (a modern motherboard should support it but older ones only do SATA)

That’s completely misrepresenting what I said. Don’t put words in my mouth. Suspected of a crime, then it should be proven beyond doubt and then punished. Guilty of bombing people, abusing kids? Don’t deserve any dignity in my opinion
