Alas I still listen to big artists.
Edit: I do still let in newsletters from an artist on bandcamp, Jim Guthrie. I think he did the OST for FTL game. Should check him again. And go from there for discovering new artists on bandcamp

JayGray91🐉🍕@piefed.socialOPto No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•If you have cut off mainstream music streaming, how do you discover new music or artists and songs like what you're listening frequently?English1·2 days agoDefinitely counts for me. I’m deep up to my eyes into vtubers and that’s why I use YouTube for theor originals and covers. Some of the indie ones can’t/ won’t put their originals on Spotify or other major music platform and just YouTube.

Last I went to one is during college 10 or more years ago lol.
Good suggestion on local community radio. I’ll have to see if there’s one in my country/state.
JayGray91🐉🍕@piefed.socialOPto No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•If you have cut off mainstream music streaming, how do you discover new music or artists and songs like what you're listening frequently?English4·2 days agoI wish the bigger international bands i listen to would come to my country often. But then it would cost a lot.
But I get you though. I am friends with a weekend band that also has friends with other more “serious” underground bands. Been going to more and more gigs and helping out and actually discovered more songs and bands like this.

Will Phones and Computers eventually merge into one device?English4·3 days agoDeX for Windows and Linux is gone as far as I understand. DeX is still available if you connect to a monitor though.
I’m happy to be corrected though. I tried searching it since I recall seeing news of it. and my 5 minutes research did found out its discontinued for Windows and Linux as OneUI 7.

Didn’t cross my mind to search first
Thanks!
JayGray91🐉🍕@piefed.socialOPto Free and Open Source Software@beehaw.org•Android FOSS calorie/food tracker appEnglish2·4 days agoThat’s something I notice Samsung Health doing. Letting users input calories as is. There’s also a calorie goal, but I haven’t explore much whether that’s a default it gave based on weight and height; it also have further body composition data it would like, so my guess the calorie goal would also take that into account; if not fully customizable with your own goal.
But using Samsung Health means it will be locked down in their ecosystem, and also most likely harvested for whatever they want that data for; most likely more ads for their smart juicer or smart fridge or something.

JayGray91🐉🍕@piefed.socialOPto Free and Open Source Software@beehaw.org•Android FOSS calorie/food tracker appEnglish1·4 days agoGood call on using a website. Didn’t even think of that. That makes it way more cross platform without things like app availability. Kind of like how I use piefed then lol
The site looks clean. Definitely will check it out.
Thanks!
JayGray91🐉🍕@piefed.socialto No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Why are you here and not on Reddit?English3·22 days agoI have no moral reasons like most do really.
I’m just tired of reddit. I’m tired of doomscrolling anything actually. even the fediverse.
I intentionally only seek chill and meme subreddit/comms. and even then some people just can’t help tripping themselves shoving negative crap onto meme comms.

That’s when I found omnivore. Unfortunately for me that was 3 months before they have to shut down lol. Now I’m back at Instapaper. Shouldn’t have left it for pocket way back then.

Ooh that’s pretty neat. I’ll have to see how to set up listenbrainz.
