Close to my home, there is a crossing without traffic lights next to the bus stop I get off at. I can’t count the number of times a car, or even more frequently a motorbike, coming from the right (which means I am in the middle of the crossing) sped up in order to be able to go through in front of me. And of course, most of the time they end up having to hard break in order to not run me over, and they still manage to complain (and most of the time while honking) that I am crossing at a crossing.
Yeah. I use KeepassXC on my computers and KeepassDX on my phone. All synced with syncthing and it works great.
I still play Old School RuneScape and Guild Wars 2, and they are both very active.
However, I’ve not tried a new MMORPG in ages. I don’t even really know if any relatively new ones could be interesting to try out.
Personally, I tried it a wee bit, but the game kept stressing me so much, which I really hate. It’s a shame because I keep hearing that it’s an incredible game… Maybe if I try it at another time I’ll have a different experience, I hope.
I use it, mainly to keep track of what I’m reading, but I also sometimes leave a small review.
But then it’s a shame that the ones that have to suffer the most from this are the pedestrians (and animals, my dog is petrified every time that a motorbike passes by). We don’t have an easy solution for this, but fighting fire with fire is definitely not the way to go.
They usually are much noisier than cars which can be very annoying. But a big part of it is due to the type of people who ride them in my city, they usually really don’t care about others.
But if the motorbike is chosen and used correctly, they are better than most cars.
During rush hour, it will definitely have an impact on the flow of traffic with most roundabouts, which are usually not very big (in France anyway).
Honestly, the only tourists that will really use a car are from «close» cities such Marseille or Toulouse. And they will choose the car because the Intercités train service is garbage, which has nothing to do with Montpellier’s public transports.
An issue I have with trams is that they are very slow if not properly integrated in both the city layout and the general population of the city. For example, in Marseille, trams have to frequently compete with pedestrians and bicycles that keep walking/riding on the tram line. This doesn’t happen with buses (or not as frequently).
The one thing that makes them better than buses in Marseille is that trams are more reliable time-wise since they don’t have to share the road with cars.
I think that I fully understand how you feel. It’s pretty much why I stopped playing online games. I want to be able to not think about being good or absolutly winning every single game. Most of the time, I would rather prefer trying out “dumb” stuff in the game or simply having random conversations while having fun.
I really miss these days where games were more than just the game itself.
I also feel that newer games only focus on the competitive aspect.
On est certain de ça ? Peut-être qu’il y a plusieurs personnes derrière le compte “Camus” !
Noise is a huge issue. That aspect alone makes me hate motorbikes.
Without any noise, they would be mostly fine, better than cars anyway.
Well, my main issue with Twitter is that it is used for official communications, and sometimes is the only medium that is used. To me, official communications should go through platforms that aren’t owned by a private company. This is where Mastodon/Firefish would be great alternatives, since governments or institutions could set up their own servers, while still being part of a wider network.
!fedora@kbin.social exists !
France already does DNS blocking. It honestly has near to no impact, since targeted websites (usually digital piracy related stuff) just change the domain.
I guess in the US pharmacies aren’t located near doctors ? Even in cities ? Where I’m from I usually just have to walk 3-5 minutes if not less to find a pharmacy after I went to the doctor.
