  • No they didn’t. The chief of police of new Orleans instructed his men and the national guard to do so. FEMA has no authority to do any such thing. Then Congress signed a bill to make it illegal for that to ever happen again.

    The bill: H.R.5013, S.2599

Note FEMA has no right to do anything on a states soil unless directed to by the states government. That’s why Puerto Rico had such trouble during Hurricane Maria and such. FEMA delivered resources and brought aid, but much of it sat on the runway with no dispersal instructions. So it just sat until orders eventually arrive. In some places pallets of water were sitting there months even past a year later.

The U.S. president claimed the President of Puerto Rico was an idiot at the time, which got him called a fool, as he is the President of Puerto Rico.

It may seem strange to be advised to look at Florida for answers, but Hurricane response in Florida has been used, reused, and reconstructed to make it better many times. Every state/territory should have their governor delegate someone to pull up their Hurricane response plan and compare it to their own and revise anything needed to better it for their location.

  • All they asked is if I had boots. Steel toe or not I believe is always debated because steel toe may help against you dropping something moderately heavy on your foot, but if you roll a cart over a steel toe, it general bends into your foot, causing more damage trying to get your food out of said situation.

From what I saw it’s mostly redistribution of cold product, think like Boars Head meats and such. So I assume hours of reorganizing items from the source to individualized boxes packed for shipping out to grocery stores.

I needed a quick job in the interim to pay for bills until I find something permanent. The whole ordeal was over quick. Saw someone putting out product at the store, asked him if they were hiring, he gave me a cell phone number and told me give Sam (fake name) a call

Called him and he told me to meet him at 11 the next day. I walked in, talked and he said to his workers I’m hiring this guy, told me I’ll start Monday, and bring my SS card, ID, and bank info for direct deposit.

Never started working for a company before the paperwork has cleared, but what the hell.

I’ll look into the composite toe thing, I likely will need to wait till the end of December to buy new shoes (so I have time to plan those)

  • So we built big tanks with a lever system like a piston on your car. Fill the left piston with water. With a small hole in the middle. For flow. If you do the math right you get the horse to walk up the stairs and stand on that piston(header really) the water drops slowly all day forced out of the hole spinning a turbine translating to electricity, preferably a battery. Horse never has to go down stairs thankfully, just back up the stairs to the other side. Moving from one side~ 3 meters every 12 hours should do it.

Basically, horse bed one side. Horse day lounge area other

  • The lowest energy costs are in solar and renewables, which he has promised to slash all investments that Biden put into place for those. So energy costs would go up long term…not down. Also the impact on the environment will be more for fossil fuels so it will cost more to clean up long term. (more expensive, not cheaper)

As for cutting taxes on Social Security, what is it going to do? He’s also mentioned cut backs to social security, but we haven’t seen any numbers for it, so we don’t know yet. We do know Obama tried to up the the salary limit for minimum wage for overtime requirements from 23,000 to over 47k but the courts blocked it. Then Trump set it at 35k. Biden has upped it to 55,000. Trump has said he wants to bring that back down. You know, because all those hard working Americans who make 40k a year don’t deserve to make overtime I guess.

  • I got paid a lot more than that doing similar for a while before the pandemic. Since the pandemic companies got caught up in the forcing people back into offices for no reason. When you are assisting people across the nation and there is information that cannot be allowed to be accessed outside it, they have to keep the jobs in the country to keep government contracts. There is no point in hiring someone in the city and have them drive in when it costs more to live in the city, it’s cheaper to pay someone who lives further away.

Why pay someone $35 an hour in a city that they can barely afford to live in and are always looking for a way out the door to find a better rate, when you can hire someone elsewhere who can live comfortably off $35 an hour and considers themselves lucky.

I spent 3 years with a company that I never went into an office once.

  • Im getting dorra the explorer vibes. But maybe since they see how well shows like Bluey captivate a young audience, it make sense they would want in.

Animated characters allow for the bright flashy lights that keep attention of kids while also allowing you to not use a person who is fallible. You never have to worry about a person doing something nafarious in their personal life and it staining their organization. (Subway, Papa Johns, Sham Wow).

They are a company that basis their decisions on profits after all.
