I have 6 domain renewal notices sitting in my Spam folder now.
Another recent one has been notices supposedly from my email provider saying it’s time to renew. That one almost got me.
I really wish GPG signing of emails had actually taken off. Would have solved this type of problem completely.
With the very big caveat that I’m 15 years out of date, you might see if OKCupid or Plenty O Fish are still around.
I would check for you but I’d rather not cause my wife to worry. I met her on OKCupid. If I remember correctly, searching was free but messages always were a paid service regardless of platform.
MusicBrainz is an open source database of music. ListenBrainz is an open source service that captures your listening habits, if you’ve configured your music player (or Spotify) to use the service. It’s similar in nature to last.fm’s scrobbling.
ListenBrainz has a feature where once a week it will build a pair of playlists for you. One is stuff it is pretty sure you will like (based off of what tracks you have favorited) and the other is more… experimental. Stuff it’s not so sure you’ll like but is similar to things you have listened to and liked in the past.
Professionals use Adobe software because it is what they know and because it is the standard. But there is no reason you need to use Photoshop unless you are working with a company that requires Photoshop.
Photoshop is just an advanced image editor made by Adobe. On Windows, Mac and Linux, GIMP is probably the most well known alternative to Photoshop. It can do roughly 99% of the things that Photoshop can do, and, more than likely, far more than you are ever likely to need. Even as a professional image editor or artist.
I’m sure that there are several options for iOS, but I don’t know them by name.
Recently, most of the music I’ve found has been something the Youtube algorithm has decided I need to listen to. Most recently it’s been the Andrew Sisters and before that it was SailNorth.
Other than that, ListenBrainz does a pretty good job of suggesting new music to listen to.
I’m no expert in the field, but under the right conditions, possibly. But that would also be incredibly unlikely. The oceans are so full of life that something would feed on the remains, and even if not it would be more likely to decompose than be preserved. Bacteria is everywhere, including in the ocean, and bacteria is a significant component in decomposition.
I believe the brine solution we use for preserving food is a much higher salt concentration than sea water.

I’ve bounced between a bunch of different ones. Each time I switched and moved the directory over the formatting and linking tended to break. In the end, I settled on just a raw hierarchical directory structure using raw markdown (using a basic text editor) for typed notes and whatever other relevant media (pictures, pdfs, whatever), and GoodNotes for handwritten notebooks with PDF backups saved to directory on my Nextcloud.
I don’t know, maybe my needs are odd but I’ve just never found a single application that could handle all of my note-taking and documentation needs. Everything is close, but frustratingly annoying in one missing feature or another. And all of them seemed damned slow compared to just opening up a file browser or a terminaland doing what I needed.
As for file syncing, Logseq was pretty easy to handle syncing for. I just put the logseq notes directory on my Nextcloud and Bob’s you’re uncle. Access on my desktop, laptop and mobile devices. Don’t have to use Nextcloud though, just something that would allow you to sync the directory between devices. Syncthing would probably work. Just don’t bounce between devices too fast. Causes conflicts you have to correct manually.

If you have a favorite community you might take a look at the instance they’re hosted out of.
Beyond that, my general advice is to sort Lemmy instances by number of active users, then pick one that’s somewhere between the 10th and 20th largest.
I tend to change volumes to bind mounts. Makes it easier to backup or move the service.
Might want to avoid using relative paths with bind mounts and declare the full path. It has caused me headaches before.
Where I live, roaches are particularly bad. Especially the tiny ones. The $100 I give to Terminex every quarter is probably the only bill I am very happy to pay. They do a good job.

Depending on your specs, the OS could be poorly configured for your setup.
As for the Distro itself, I’ve tried it but the default UI didn’t work for me. If I remember correctly, it was Gnome based at the time and I kept fighting its opinions on how I should be working.
Solved the problem by nuking the install and installing NixOS with the KDE6 desktop.
Like others have said, your best bet is to just buy new a new scope mount and rings from any firearms shop. Easier and less headache. You will need to know your scope’s tube diameter.
However, if you are dead set on repair rather than replace (and are in the US), for oddball engineering projects like this I tend to use McMaster Carr. If they if they don’t have what you need I would be very surprised. They are an engineering supplier, and have prices to match. But they sell anything thats not electronics. Excellent customer service too.
For electronics builds or repairs, I recommend DigiKey.
Between the two you could build or repair just about anything.

I don’t think they federate. Least ways, I don’t think I’ve ever seen a post from a bluesky account, on lemmy or mastodon, and SDF hadn’t blocked them server side last I checked.
I think they’re a bit like truth social, not federating and off doing their own thing.
I’m subscribed to the community !newcommunities@lemmy.world .Additionally I’ll occasionally browse All, but most of the time it’s from people mentioning a new community in a discussion.
Might take a look at NextCloud though it may be overkill as it’s intended to be a full Google Cloud or Office365 replacement. On the other hand, it is modular so you only have to set up what you actually need.
It’s the content that makes a platform relevant. So follow the usual youtube call to action.

Where I live there are 3 mass transit options. The airports, inter-city busses, and Amtrack. We generally get around by car.
Amtrack costs as much as taking a plane but takes as long (or longer) than the busses and is really only a viable option in the North East US. The US does have an extensive rail network that covers a most of the US, but it’s mostly used for heavy freight. Most towns and cities don’t have a passenger rail terminal anymore. We only have this option only because we are between Atlanta and New Orleans. Most places in the US don’t have this option. Here’s a map of the US rail network. If you go to layers you can hide everything except Amtrak routes to see what I mean. Link doesn’t work in Firefox as a heads up.
The inter-city busses are usually only once a day (sometimes only once a week) and take forever to get anywhere and often have long layovers on the way. But they do go almost everywhere in the country. Company is called Greyhound if you want to look them up.
And finally, we have the local regional airport. Imagine what Berlin might have been like during the middle of the Cold War. It’s probably not too far off the situation at our airports. Show ID at the entrance, Strip, Walk through the scanner while your stuff is riffled through, dress, Show ID again at the gate, and pray you don’t get picked for a more thorough search or harassed by TSA which might cause you to miss your flight. Granted, I haven’t flown in over a decade, but my last plane trip made me decide to never fly again if I could at all help it.
