Bazzite supports Secure Boot…😉
But thanks for the info! I’ll be looking at it more closely later.

If you plan to use yours as a laptop replacement, get Bazzite (maybe CachyOS, but I don’t have experience with their handheld version). SteamOS is great, but the major drawback for daily computing is that every update will wipe out your modifications to the core system (not your home directory). Bazzite and some others will give you a persistent system with each update.
For gaming, Hades works flawlessly. It’s easy to pick up and put down, doesn’t consume a lot of battery, and the story/gameplay are phenomenal.
Make sure to also check out RetroDeck/EmuDeck and Decky Loader to extend what your Deck can do
There’s probably white shells for the OLED models, now, though I haven’t checked in a while. Most of the custom shells come with matching buttons, and you can buy separate buttons of other colors, so you could probably make a facsimile with a little searching and elbow grease.
That’s been my experience, too! I was a little worried, after I got out the first time, that I would have no more reason to keep playing, but they did a good job giving the player something(s) to keep working towards.
Playing through Hades 1. I never got out of Hades until this time around, and I’m having fun grinding to complete some of the fated choices and lounge renovations.
I stopped playing years ago because I was tired of the toxicity directed just at other people.
Christmas is the best time to buy storage and other electronics. The best sales are usually then, historically.
I don’t know of any, but I don’t keep up with the world of liquid cooling. Water is usually the most common, since it is cheap and has reliable performance.
Doesn’t look like corrosion, since that would likely be a blue/green color from the copper (you can see a little of that oxidation in the third pic), but it probably is a buildup of minerals as the main plate has slowly leaked fluid out the sides.
Should you use it?
It’s leaking fluid. Unless you know for a fact it’s using some kind of non-conductive fluid, it’s a matter of when it leaks onto something more important, not if—probably your GPU, if not your CPU.
As an avid and current Steam Controller user, top-down twin stick shooters are still awkward. Having a second stick while still having both pads will be a monumental improvement.
The “Humanity Steps Repeatedly on the Rake Called Social Media Challenge” is going swimmingly.
Looks nice! Have fun
I was in the same boat. Banks are lazy and often won’t underwrite custom loans that fall outside their automatic software, but there are still some who will.
If you don’t have a score (which I’m convinced some mortgage people think means a bad score, because they’re fucking idiots who can’t listen), you can ask to speak to someone in charge or go elsewhere, but there are lenders who will work with you. Got ours through USDA, which took longer and was custom underwriting, but still got the terms about two weeks later.
Honestly, the ones who survive well are the ones who build communities that take care of each other: Sharing meals, sharing gardens, sharing skills and labor, sharing rides, sharing emotions and stories, etc.
Capitalism was always pushing the US towards a gigantic class divide, and Boomers and Gen X carried that torch at the expense of their descendants’ future. Communities of support are something that will have helped regardless of who is carrying what ideology and regardless of who is in charge, and they thrive in adversity.
So if you’re looking for advice, build your local communities. Strengthen your bonds with your neighbors. Participate in local governance.
I know what I said.
It was a joint effort of idiocy.
Because half the voting population is idiots.
…you’re just mad they’re not as miserable as you want them to be. Or more likely not as miserable as they truly are on the inside…
This is probably more true than even they realize.
And even if we assume they work(ed) those alleged 14h days, 6.5 days a week, that does not mean the rest of the world must have the same work aspirations or methods. The idea that a silkscreen printer must work the same hours as the company president, for example, is arbitrary and insane.
