  • They know they have a hardcore of 20-30% of hardcore personality cult followers, and those are around the kinds of numbers you need to sustain a dictatorship.

The US right now is operating outside of the constitution - it is basically no longer the US. Constitutional crisis of the president ignoring the judicial branch aside, congress is doing nothing to step in as the majority of its members are majority sycophants who are just doing what they are told so they can remain in the good graces and get rich easily, and all major institutional heads of the federal government have been replaced with loyalists and an agency that is basically operating outside of the government and painting only a surface level facade to make it seem as if it operating as part of it is accessing all governmental data and syphoning off through Starlink to who knows what datacenters off somewhere.

Perhaps the worst thing isn’t that the US is no longer operating under its constitution, but how little the constitution was worth to all the people who pledged their loyalties to it just to step aside and let this happen. The modern US seems to have been operating under none of the foundations they persistently virtue signaled about, apparently, and it was largely all built out of a patriotic hype bubble in the end.

  • I actually only installed M.2 a few years back when I went serious on my PC. I’m aware of the issues, although it’s still running good. I wonder how long it will last. I still have a few IDE drives, and some no longer can be read. Not because they’ve lost the data, but it just doesn’t spin up correctly. It will be interesting to see how it works out, at the moment I’m keeping an eye out on the health using CrystalDiskInfo. There’s certainly been cases of M.2 sticks with shitty firmware, but so far I seem to have avoided them. I’m also trying out a RAIDed M.2 mini NAS, it will be fun to see how that works out compared to the traditional NAS.

    Core i9 - Well there’s your problem.

No NVMe M.2s? What a noob! HDDs in this day and age!?!? Would you like a floppy disk with that?

4 slots of RAM? What is this, children’s playtime hour? You are only supposed to have 2 slots of RAM installed for optimum overclocking.

Does the dude even 8K 300fps ray trace antialias his YouTube videos!?!? I bet he caps out his Chrome tabs below a thousand.

  • It’s not really because it’s their last chance, but because it is their best chance in the foreseeable future. One of their key allies, Russia, is close to falling under the weight of the economic consequences of its war, they are about to get complete reigns again in the US, in no small part to voter manipulation, and all they need is to stuff government a bit more to make it as much of a “democracy” as Russia’s.

Not that I’m arguing against it being “their last chance”, a lot of democracies are slowly wising up in their slow bureaucratic timescale about what’s actually happening, how social networks are getting exploited, how just having one case against Cambridge Analytica did not so much stop the problem as acted as international advertising for its services, and how any advantages they thought they were getting are being undermined by those same networks propping up fascist on a global scale locally.

The US turning fascist is basically a whole globalist oligarchy turning on itself, and they know that they can no longer follow status quo or they will be toppled from down under by the those on top. The new populist fascist drive powered by the ultrarich wants to make the world eat itself before it eats them as we get closer to the consequences of global warming, resource scarcity, and population growth reaching its limits, not directly as a conspiracy but as a consequence of that’s how they have always acted but now on a macro-scale.

  • The problem is the technology gap between nations. Europeans are literally sending over their smartest and they are going over because all they care about is greed, politics be damned because because to them it’s a rest of the world going around in a cycle of stupid problem. Which is stagnating both societies, science, and global security. The US is using those engineers to build the most modern weapons against fictitious “if we won’t, they will” enemies, weapons that are disseminated to opposing world powers through corruption except those still stuck in the system of legitimacy rapidly devolving into subservience, weapons that are getting battle-hardened through imperialistic use throughout conflict world wide through the industrial military complex.

Europe militarily has been in shambles since WW2, evidenced by how much of its colonial ambitions it had to give up. It wasn’t just oligarchs suddenly becoming good. What is going to happen is not that Europe is suddenly going to become capable of sustaining NATO, it’s that it is going to have to give concessions to the nations that aren’t going to be cutting them off. Before, that was the US, now it will have to be Russia and China.

  • The biggest problem is that part of the way they usually game is by trying to create and promote a legal minefield by promoting footnotes in the law.

Before you get to their armies of clever lawyers, you will be inundated with rights issues from Accidental Americans and senior expats who have not resided in the US for decades. Not even from taxes as most publications seem to claim but from the far steeper charges of failing to report “foreign bank accounts” of normal banks people have been living literally right beside of for normal day to day tasks, which have been mined with things like fines that are life shattering for anyone but billionaires.

It is designed so that any such solution will grind to an halt by fostering the prosecution of those least capable to defend themselves who are earning even well below what they would in the US. It is why the US renunciation rate is at record highs in the US, because the nation of immigrants have forgot what it is to be an immigrant.

So bringing it back to the point at hand, it isn’t just that they have clever lawyers, like Charles Rettig who was literally appointed by Trump to lead the IRS, it’s that they are able to hire and influence everyone involved in the process, not just on their side, to make sure they are the last to ever be affected.
