Mine offered to pay me half the rate of my non-management work. But I did get a decent raise for my non-management work from the promotion.

Like the math kind or the chemistry kind?
That’s a real world example of what happens when you have self-driving (even in beta mode with some safety features turned off to prevent that from happening). Obviously the driver this manually override and stop the car before hitting the person. It doesn’t even need any searching: the story itself makes that clear if it mentions the car hit someone.
Would have been a lot easier to type this comment while squatting if I had a standing desk capable of squating instead of using my lap for my notebook
It still would be a mistake and would prevent some people from voting for him, but Bernie would at least compensate for it by actually supporting popular policies instead of the opposite and have some energy.
Still managed to make enough mistakes to offset Trump’s age.
The basic idea seems to be that it should be pretty similar to reddit, but with federation. Definitely still seems to have its own separate character though. And different instances have their own unique cultures, some more differentiated than others.
If you know they are just trying to get you to quit and don’t actually want you to do anything, I imagine it’s easier than a job where you have to worry about how you appear to bosses and others. The facade of being productive itself can be taxing.
But it also depends how much leeway they give to do whatever. If you know you can just stay up all night and come in to sleep 8 hours, the time could pass pretty quickly…
As someone who has been stuck on i10 traffic trying to get out of Houston, it sounds expected.
30 m/s would be pretty fast
The one with the internet, whatever that’s called.
I hate when I try to remember my master password without typing it and panic that I’ve forgotten my password. But when I got to type it, muscle memory is still there so no problem.
I have one like tiramichu and also like it. Use it constantly and it’s convenient to be able to share things on my screen with people on the other side of my desk occasionally, making it more practical than something built-in to the laptop.
Or they just try to send a message to onlookers. Voting for non-right-wing presidents isn’t acceptable here.
And if you drive slow enough for deer, you should be more than slow enough for buggies.
Each year in the United States, deer–vehicle collisions resulted in at least 59,000 human injuries and 440 human fatalities.[1]
In 2000, of the 6.1 million lightweight motor vehicle collisions in the US, 1 million involved animal-vehicle collisions. Deer–vehicle collisions lead to about $1.1 billion in property damage every year.[2] State and federal governments, insurance companies, and drivers spend an additional $3 billion in an effort to reduce and manage the increasing number of deer-vehicle collisions.[3]
Majority of animal-involved human deaths in the US are deer-vehicle collisions. Going slower can greatly diminish the frequency and severity of those collisions.
Deer will no wear reflectors (except their eyes of you count that) nor active lighting. If you can’t see a buggy with reflectors, you’re going too fast.
I wouldn’t expect someone to drive that 20mph on a rural street. In that case, it was near a shopping center and I could clearly see people walking on the sidewalk along the road. Hence why I was going slow. It was an example of driving a speed appropriate to the situation, despite what speed limit signs might suggest are okay on the road. In rural areas around here, its things like deer that are an issue. If you’re lights aren’t good enough to see something as big as a cow in time to stop, you are going too fast for the road. Doesn’t matter if its a 70mph road and you have to go 40mph to be reasonably safe.
You should be going slow enough that someone can step out suddenly into the road suddenly right in front of you. I’ve had adults do that to me. Guess who didn’t drive into them? I was probably going like 20mph because that’s the speed at which I could do that if needed.
Makes sense if they were caught, the system would bring a case against them. But given the facts of the case, a reasonable jury should find them not guilty.
