Absolutely. I’m not terribly privileged, but while the difficulties of life are non-trivial, overall I’ve experienced enough joy to justify the expense.

It’s a regional story. If it was an African, or Asian, or Latin American, or American Indian story, would it be okay to make the characters European so long as the story is good?
If your answer is “Yes”, then okay at least you’re consistent, but a lot of people would disagree.
If your answer is “No, because white people are disproportionately represented in media”, that’s exactly why we should prefer making media based on other cultures and regions, rather than endlessly remaking the same European stories so Disney can protect their IP.

I mean, even all the way back in Grimm, she’s described with “skin as white as snow, lips as red as blood and hair as black as ebony”. Like I get what you’re saying, but having very, very white skin is literally(literally literally) a central detail of the character. Hence the name.
I feel like maybe the answer isn’t to keep remaking European fairy tales. Maybe the focus should be on, I dunno, folk tales from anywhere else? Or, God forbid, an original story?
Not really. It’s less through travel and more having conversations with my immigrant friends about the things they experienced in their home country.

People talk about racism in America, and yes it’s a problem, but having spent time with people from around the world, holy hell. America is probably the least racist country in the world. Absolutely dwarfed by the weird, vitriolic, oddly specific racism basically everywhere else.

I have extensive experience with more than one narcissist. Failing to recognize their own abusive behavior, and the link to subsequent social fallout, is textbook narcissism.
I’m not trying to make judgement on their struggles, I’m stating that believing oneself to be unfairly targeted is a symptom of narcissism.
It’s more like someone who is nose blind to their own horrific body odor (thanks to my MtG phase, also something I’m quite familiar with) than race. They think they smell fine, yet people react poorly to them, some even suggest bathing or deodorant. Since they can’t smell themself, they interpret these comments as baseless. They think they smell fine, and other nose blind smelly people will only confirm their self-assuredness.
NPD is also typified by not recognizing your behavioral offenses, and reacting to criticism by claiming to be the victim. The narcissists in my life never think they do anything wrong, that their abusive behavior is normal or acceptable, that their critics are attacking them for no reason, out of unfounded hatred or jealousy.
That does not make for a reliable evaluation. Claims of baseless attacks from a person who thinks every attack against them is baseless, does not prove that those attacks are actually baseless.
And yeah, people with NPD are very often attacked by neurotypicals for their thoughtcrimes.
Source? I’ve dealt with more than my share of narcissists, and I’ve never seen this. They might say things like “You really do think you’re the center of the universe, unbelievable” but it’s not because of the thought itself, it’s because of a history of harmful behavior linked to that thought. Manipulation, verbal abuse, selfishness at the expense of others, etc.
If you somehow had all the non-behavioral traits, but were able to avoid all the telltale narcissistic behaviors, no one would attack you for your narcissistic thoughtcrimes.

You can’t handle the logistics of a modern civilization without some kind of administration. Someone has to collect, allocate, and distribute resources to the various public services necessary for a functioning society.
There are “anarcho-capitalists” who might claim to want to dismantle all government in favor of totally unregulated capitalism, but that’s just trading out elected officials for the private boards of massive companies. Else they temper that private power with “citizen advocacy boards” which, after a long enough conversation with an an-cap willing to earnestly answer questions, eventually develop into something indistinguishable from government.
Government is necessary, anarchists want government without oppressive hierarchies. I say oppressive, because organizational hierarchies are really the only way to quickly and efficiently handle large projects. The problem arises with authoritarian hierarchies, when the scope of hierarchical power expands from clerical to tyrannical.
On a cosmic timescale, facilitate a world with minimal suffering and maximal fulfillment.

Starting a business requires resources and coordination. It is easier for one individual with many resources to get the ball rolling than for many people with few resources to do the same. Even if you need to take out a loan, it’s simpler to do as an individual than as a group. Most people who front all the resources for a business are going to want creative control over the structure and operation, and consequentially claim to the profit. It’s much easier, logistically, for one person to roll existing capital into a new business than to coordinate a board of founders. Democracies are much slower at making decisions than dictatorships, obviously.
I am 100% pro co-op. I’d love to see credit unions offering start-up loans to groups of founding members, specifically designed to develop co-ops. It’s just currently uncommon, so the infrastructure isn’t there. Without that financial infrastructure, you’re relying in everyone fronting a portion of the start-up funding.
So, in short: it’s more complicated, financially and logistically. I’m all for it, but before we see co-ops carve out a more significant market share, we’ll need to see some chipping away at these barriers to entry.
