Pull the stick out? I love history and thought of what you said as well and those women ARE remembered, but for a fleeting forgettable moment in a lemmy forum, even I had a laugh.

Read more history, even just the last 1-200 years. Really dig in to the shit they don’t get into in school. What you’ll find is that times have always been “troubling” and if anything I think there’s a selfishness some people have when they always focus on somehow NOW is the worst time ever and NOW is when things are terrible and everything good will somehow end.
Honestly, whatever you think is “troubling” nowadays probably isn’t even new or the first time. But so many people don’t understand just how fucked up all of history has been and yet people and countries and cultures survived.
If anything, life today in general for most is far better than in all of human history. Due to advancements in technology and medicine, most people don’t have to worry about basic survival things the same way they might have even just 100 years ago.
It is normal. Just do it. People who have an issue with this are creating their own problems. It’s a YOU problem.
The same one that was installed on people’s devices without their knowledge or consent? I think you’re avoiding the real issue there.
My issue is that most mom & pop shops suck. Local places often have horrid customer service or business practices and are run by people who have no business running businesses. Very few are legitimately good.
And it’s not just where I live now. This has been the case everywhere I have lived.
It’s why I hate the blanket “support local” bs.
Since I was a child. Religious nutjobs in and around my family. Then I became an adult and it’s all I see from people in response to news.
It gets old so I try to tune out, remove toxic people, and focus on enjoying my life.
Spartan: Total Warrior from the PS2 & Gamecube was I think an underrated or missed gem.
You don’t exactly play as a lot of mythological things, but it tells a great story with action combat around a lot of really cool mythology. Some of the bosses were incredibly cool.
I 100% the PS3 one plus DLC. I then 100% the remake plus the new DLC on PS4. I love the game. It’s just fun. It has flaws, but I like the flaws.
I’ll probably do it a 3rd time eventually on Steam Deck.
Like most Ys games, they’re a trudge at first, and some graphical letdown, but they’re still great stories with great characters. I remind myself to power through the beginning each Ys game and eventually find myself loving it.
Ys X Nordics. Tons of fun.
You grossly oversimplified what the Supreme Court basically “said,” and then posited a ridiculous assertion on top of it.
Ys X: Nordics you cowards!!!
I remember it when I was a kid. I also remember some people gave put more or less candy depending on how good your costume was. Felt incredibly judged in public. Hated Halloween for so many reasons.
Almost every case of movie purists. The Hobbit trilogy was great. The new Star Wars trilogy was great. The old ones are great too.
I have similar issues with music and video games. I almost always love the most hated albums or games in a series based on the loudest commentary online. I also find the most popular entry to be kind of meh. I think average people have boring taste or just follow a crowd or something.
Disgusting. I have never and will never use my phone or a gaming console in the bathroom. I go to the bathroom, and then fucking leave. I’ll never understand sitting there forever.
You mean the idiotic hype machines?
Haha. I never understand the VPN bullshit. Yiu wanna get around local limitations? Okay. But most people argue privacy. Hide your online activity from your ISP by PAYING some other company to instead see all of your activity?
Just stupid. All companies will eventually screw you.
Anyways, OP’s post seems unreal. Like a caricature of everything. Is OP trolling in the first place? I have literally never thought that much about rule34, but OP has quite the imagination there. Not sure why their mind goes there.
So the oil companies have a limit and eventually it will stop.
Universal Healthcare.
My childhood. I don’t understand people who do. Mine was mostly loneliness, confusion, trauma, emotional neglect, guilt, shame, some abandonment, some physical abuse, etc. Every day has been a step towards better than the previous. I don’t want to or miss anything going backwards.
