It had to be stigmatized before that to be applied to selfish people.
Good point. I suspect it was a plot point in Medical Drama #17 or Police Drama #12, thus was thoroughly misrepresented.

How do you cope with NPD?
Also, what kind of things can other people do to support someone with NPD?
It’s stigmatised because the term has entered common (mis)usage to describe people who are just selfish
Best complaint I heard was “it’s just mad max on water” .
WTF? That sounds awesome.
Not necessarily them personally but previous generations of British colonialism really (deliberately) screwed over the indigenous people in my country in a multitude of ways.
Every descendant generation since has benefitted from that to the detriment of indigenous generations. I, and my children, benefit from it daily with superior schooling, housing, health, wealth, etc.
Even the smallest things (e.g. voting for progressive government, volunteering, learning the language and culture, advocacy) that I can do to helps mitigate some of that harm.
LOL I’m even a java developer.
That’s just kicking the can down the road.
Correct the mistakes of my ancestors.
I guess I’ll have to get a few more bottles to expiriment.
Shame!
Occam’s Razor: prefer the answer with the least assumptions. The simplest answer is that the stopper leaks.
You’ve only got a very small sample size and it’s possible that the stopper is slightly asymmetric and fits well one way and no other.
The easiest way to unreliabily detect this is just to rotate the stopper in the neck and see if it sits in one place sightly differently than other positions.
Also, if you’re more frequently drinking your preferred bourbon, you’ll have a harder time noticing any evaporation.
https://seasia.co/infographic/qatar-population-by-nationalities-2024 reckons 20% of the entire population of Qatar are Indian. If that’s mostly workforce then yeah. It could easily be the skew.
Yep, that’s the point I was circling around ;-)
I was wondering if there was a correlation between purple and war. There certainly was in early C20 post world-wars.
I find the top three ratios interesting: there’s a tiny skew towards females but a huge skew towards males.
It doesn’t show what the green threshold is though. From memory, the natural birth ratio is 49:51 m:f, so the female skew is only about 3% while the male skew is about 20%. Seven times larger.
If I were colouring the map, I don’t think I’d have bothered with differentiating purple and green, or perhaps used more graduations.
Some very small children didn’t know whether to cheer or cry…
… But first, let’s shoot fireballs at it!
I remember that, I thought it was poetic. I also remember the pearl clutching outrage.
Though a few visits ago at my local zoo two of the orangutans were beating the shit out of a seagull for fun, with naught outrage.
So there’s probably a double standard built-in.
… A sunny disposition?
Needs more plants.
The thread is a bit of a dumpster fire…
I’ve been mulling over your actual question a bit. I could argue that some of the stigmatisation could just be that it’s really easy to dislike someone who’s self centred or selfish, that NPD can present similarly (gross assumptions on my part there, sorry) makes it easy to dislike someone with NPD.
Disliking someone makes it very easy to stigmatise any and all of their traits. It becomes a feedback loop.
Anyway, I hope you manage it well and hope you can surround yourself with supportive people.
