The world is fucked. A climate change denier was elected to one of the most influential countries and we’re already past mitigating some of the worst effects. There is no coming back.

I agree with you, but I also hate EVs. Mostly because I think public transport is superior. But I still support it as a driving alternative. It’s just the world’s biggest half-measure.

I think the “tiny” vehicle is mostly meant for worksites and small roads whereas the modern pickup truck is meant to subvert the EPA’s definition of road class vehicle so that the company can produce less Eco-friendly vehicles to generate larger profit margins. Everything else is just the marketing working on middle America and the massive cope that comes with justifying that investment.

There’s always going to be important issues that are going to be difficult to debate without some level of emotion, especially when talking about politics or the environment, you have to remember that this personally affects people’s lives.

However it can get overwhelming and it’s important that you have the self-awareness to know when you need to step away.

I know it’s easy to judge the Internet by its worst actors but you have to remember that everyone needs to learn and be part of the discourse it’s not just the internet, that’s humanity.

This is incorrect they actually issued dmca take down notices to about 20 emulator forks, Gary’s mod content, a couple home brew projects and an out of court settlement with Yuzu. This is just recently.

Nintendo has a history of being hostile to the emulation, homebrew and modding community.

And they still feel the need to have a legal team that rivals Disney hunting down and harassing every fan project and emulation team.

My favorite is when they purposely sabotage public transportation and then make that the case study for why it never works

To put it succinctly they aren’t. They’re interested in aggregate data so that a data engineer can use it to understand consumer trends and better predict marketing reach.

It’s not specifically about you, it’s more of a what they can claim to know about their consumers.

I know war is hell but in a big existential way I feel even more scared of climate change.

Climate change won’t completely end our world but it will make it permanently worse, At least eventually something can come back after war.
