Obviously I do not want to downplay the situation you’re in, but making society better is not done with broad brush strokes. No single person without the respective systemic knowledge will be able to design a solution for this in a matter of months.

I mean you are making a fair argument that there’s a distinction between your own morals and the binding rules in place. You are free to feel a lot of things that are very bad, but when you act on them you will bump into reality.

That said I think the original comment was meant to say that the only reason he is here is because society through the legal process has found him to be safe to work there.

Now to get beyond the feelings against him OP can obviously talk to HR and make sure they get some distance, but if the courts found him not guilty, he deserves to be there. Imagine serving years in prison, working on yourself until the government finally finds you fit enough to enter society again, only for ppl to kick you out of your job again because of something you tried so hard to leave behind. That’s why the prison system usually focuses on rehabilitation instead of punishment in most civil countries.

What I’m saying is, the court’s ruling does not have to change the way you feel, but the court also says you have no right to take his job from him unless he commits crimes again. No feeling can measure heavy enough to weigh up against the right for him to live a normal life.

I have a feeling if you “game this out” beforehand it might result in the opposite. In my humble opinion I would just ask her out.

Honestly, no. I do know English, however the syntax is always very far removed from actual sentences and learning how to use the syntax is way different from how languages work.

That said, you’re kinda porked when it comes to reading through documentations, APIs, and watching tutorials, as most of them are in English.

Literally illegal. Discussing crimes doesn’t equal crime, so there’s no reason for them to requeust IPs. And at least in the EU you aren’t even allowed to disclose information related to your person.

The AI is trained using images. If you type in things like “a tree” it has a vague idea of what it looks like.

The thing is writing letters is a hard concept. How should the AI know text is made up of letters? Connected lines make a letter and unconnected ones don’t. Sentences are connected using dots.

Easy enough for us, you have to imagine an AI is best with what it can directly observe. But knowing when to literally write out letters is hard. So it has a stroke. It has a vague notion of “this is where text is supposed to go” but making the letters look right in an adjusted font, remembering where letters end and how words are spaced; all of this is far too complex.

Now I haven’t looked into it for AIs who CAN generate text more well, but I assume the only they do this is by deciding “there’s gonna be text” and then using another process to insert the text basically after the fact. Or maybe there’s some special process change in the training or inference of the image going on? Idk, for this one I need an expert.

And then there’s also a difference between being intelligent and being smart. If you are intelligent, you might know how to cheat in a videogame. But if you are smart, you know that this a bad idea because of a plethora of reasons.

Member of a family of progressives: there’s no stigma per se in my family about my autism, but sometimes I act different and they don’t understand and I can’t explain. That means sometimes ppl get angry / annoyed / confused / etc. because of something I can’t control, and sometimes they don’t understand why as well.

There’s never been a solution. I try explaining it but how do you explain what’s different between you and another person when it’s so native to you and you don’t have a comparison.

A game where there’s a mundane task like fishing or gardening, but it gets kinda minigame-y and trippy and it branches into maybe some kind of either party game or some other super complex shit. The closest someone has come to this was with Dave the diver.

I mean ppl usually say that you’re only alive when you feel good and bad emotions, and when you’re hurting sometimes as well. So I assume making some mistakes, being wrong, feeling things, being exposed to stuff, that’s all “living”. And sitting in your room following daily patterns a lot, no change in behaviour or routine, that’s all the “dying” part.

But at the end of the day it’s all subjective and it really depends on your focus in life and your definitions.

It probably matters if the goal is to harm you or your close friends.

It’s always a good idea to understand ppl and their views, because it helps to confirm or reject your own hypotheses, which are plenty. But there’s a reason you always have to take any claim from an unknown or untrusted source with varying grains of salt. Especially considering we are living in a world where the internet is the one central source of information and bad actors are starting to flood all channels that provide information.

What you’re describing in 3. is the exact reason why I said “build software from scratch” btw. Some software just will never work properly or never work period. And usually, every Linux compatible software can technically do 80% of the stuff you need, but even that takes 10x the time and effort. I’m talking 3d applications like AutoCAD, cinema4d, DAWs like FL Studio and Ableton, video cutting like Sony Vegas or Adobe Premiere Pro, and this is not even talking about use cases where there’s highly specific, proprietary or custom software.

You either use Windows, or you pay with your time, effort and sanity.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m a data scientist and software Dev and I know there are good reasons why Linux should be the golden standard. But I’m also a realist and while I love the idea of what Linux’ goal is, it’s a really hard sell for most non computer science people.

Although it’s not a comedic song in itself, when the chorus kicks in, the cognitive dissonance of that mismatching voice is funny. But then after 5 listens you are just impressed because it sounds good. And that made me unironically listen to it more and I put it in my playlist, recognizing the depth of the lyrics and that unique feeling of the song.

That’s btw 1 of 2 songs from jinjer that are considered outliers and those are the only two that I like by jinjer which is very weird.

ADHD+Autism

Very annoying. Most ppl already struggle to understand ADHD. Now try to explain autism or what it feels like when you have both. But then again, I also don’t fit in with the autism crowd cause my autism is just light enough that I recognize my mistakes but I can’t fix them.

I mean tbf how could someone understand autism if I don’t really understand it myself. How could I, I’ve been born with a warped brain, I have no comparison.
