I’m gonna go against the current here and say no. Videogames are not a good hobby and a poor investment of your time. If the alternative is deer hunting or anything shady then playing videogames is one of the less harmful things you can do on earth but among the thousand activities you can do and pick up as a hobby videogames are not free of issues.

First of all by specifically getting into video games you are looking at stare at a screen and sit for hours. Not a big deal if you can manage it but don’t limit yourself to just videogames, there are board games, social games, mind sports and many other games you can get into.

Videogames industry has become very rotten and has appropriated the whole community. Many of the titles being suggested here are “products” made by evil companies with mechanics built to mess up with people. Steam which many recommended you to download is a proprietary software launcher that belongs to a company that has no problem pushing loot boxes and abduct kids into gambling. That’s the sort of business you are getting your hands into.

Who did they arrest and why? Who led the Bolsheviks? How was the rebellion suppressed?

The Communists fought against the Black Guards, a millitant organization that was anti-bolshevik, after the Cheka believed them to be planning a major strike against the Communists. These were not simply random, innocent Anarchists reading theory and making tea, but a millitant organization opposed to the Communists in the middle of a Civil War.

For clarity, this implies you would have supported the fascist-led rebellion in the middle of a Civil War, while Russia was being invaded by a dozen Capitalist nations. I hope I am misinterpreting your words here.

All i said is that i wouldn’t consider heroic lenin involvement in the Kronstadt rebellion which was suppressed with blood. You praising repressive methods that resemble that of fascists has bigger implications if you ask me.

Good question, are they? I think more people should be concerned about it especially these who are supporting their own government in sending weapons to the government of ukraine.

The goal of the invasion into Russia (in my estimation) is to take territory to trade back to Russia in exchange for parts of Ukraine that Russia has captured. Do you think that’s not okay? Why?

This isn’t a video game, what we are talking about is potentially forced conscript being ordered to invade russia and dying there a miserable way so that governments can trade pieces of land.

I don’t think being drafted by force and ordered to invade another country is a good thing regardless of who you are.
