Yep. We have a black and white Brother laser printer, and it’s lasted* for at least five years now. Toner is so much cheaper than those stupid, tiny cartridges with not-enough-cyan.

Hmm, they’re pretty synonymous, but I think you’re noticing this slight, occasional difference in use: Lethal is active, deadly is passive. A thing can actively be lethal when used by you, but when it’s something that happens to you, it’s deadly. An accident is something that’s considered to have happened to you, despite the fact that it’s typically your fault to some extent.
It just occurred to me that this ability to communicate with a search engine, that everyone used to call Google-fu, was exactly this! It didn’t already know (or think it knew) what you were getting at, and it’s took some practice to figure out how to finesse the results.
And this post, being on Lemmy, will be indexable by search engines!
I think you have to do what’s best for your people. You have a very particular set of goals with Beehaw, and if the fediverse isn’t the right place for that then it’s fine to move on. I’ll be curious to see what you all decide to do, and, if you do leave, what you end up creating!
No, but seriously, as a parent who regularly gets texts and emails of crap that my kids want, teaching them to prune their links is next on my to-do list! It’s annoying AF, but right now we’re focused on the power of the “enter” button to add spaces between items on a list.
I just switched to Antennapod, so I don’t have data from this year yet. I would guess my top three were:
Wow, you just out here flaunting
My lungs hurt from laughing. This is amazing!
I mean, I feel like I’ve been seen, but also called out. 😂 Thank you for all of this info!
Thank you! We’re really looking forward to it. It’s such a beautiful country, and the people seem lovely. My daughter has been learning German for a couple years, but I definitely need to work on mine before we go.
This makes sense, too. I know we borrow a ton of words and phrases over here, especially from our neighboring countries and historically from, well, basically all of Europe.
This is great context, thank you! That would make sense about the comments. The hotel owners were responding to folks, but I admit I was reading through things quickly and could have missed someone identifying themselves that way before the hotel responded.
Oh, that’s a decent theory! Interesting that you haven’t seen it as a German person, too.
Oh yeah, we know that! Between the three of us we can do survivable German, Spanish, and French, as well. I think. 😂
My daughter actually said something like that, that the French names probably just sound fancier, especially to Americans. That would jive with ladyofthrowaway’s post above, too.
That’s certainly possible! I’m not sure how I would find that out. We’re just looking at the places with decent reviews on available sites in the US, like Expedia and TripAdvisor.
That’s what I saw the other day!! I had never seen one before and thought it was freaking adorable. Thank you for solving that mini mystery for me.
