2·5 months agoCame here to suggest Akagi, it might also help to play a little Mahjong Soul to understand riichi mahjong. It’s not essential, but rewatching Akagi after learning how to play was an enhanced experience.
All great mentions, but Hundreds of Beavers has been living in my head since I watched it, easily my favourite of 2024.
This is good, I enjoyed the first three, I hope they go with a similar release cadence.
Hundreds of Beavers is easily my favourite movie this year. I watched it with some friends who had no idea what they were watching, and it has been a universal hit with them. The physical comedy is done really well, and many gags are foundational to setting rules for the viewer to set up even more elaborate and hilarious gags as the movie goes on. Honestly this is such a unique and fun movie, it was a breath of fresh air. I am.hanging out for a theatre showing near me, as I think the only way the movie could be better would be to experience it with a crowd.
I believe it’s also streaming free on Tubi.

+1 for Radarr, it does everything you want plus so much more, highly recommend you try it out, one of the best tools to self host if you enjoy movies.

I think the world is finally ready for teabag authentication.
I don’t think there’s magic one size fits all answer to this, it really sucks you have to deal with it. Avoid destructive behaviours like drinking until you pass out etc, they won’t help in the long term. Do you have any friends IRL you can call on?
These are my favourites so far, don’t discount the new movies though, there’s some really talented people making dumb movies right now in the spirit of the 80s B-movie!
