1 year agoWayland can do mixed DPI multi-monitor setup, and Onshape is a fantastic CAD system - it runs in browser and works perfectly on Linux. I used exactly that setup profesionally for nearly 2 years.

I think you may like Expeditionary Force series, there is quite a bit of what you are looking for.
I guess Asimov Foundation series would also be a good candidate for world building.
