My tech-illiterate mom uses my Jellyfin instance with no issues. I sent her a link to the app store, her credentials, my server’s hostname and that was it. And once it’s set up, Jellyfin is much more straightforward to use than Plex.
Sure Jellyfin has issues and doesn’t support as many types of devices, but Plex is far from perfect. I use it like twice a year, and the UI gets more and more confusing with each update IMO.
To convince himself that driving a SUV in a city is a sensible choice.

Together they provide an experience almost as straightforward as any commercial streaming platform: find a media on jellyseerr and request it with a single click. A few minutes* later the media is available in Jellyfin, and you can watch it on your computer, smartphone, smart TV, …

It just came out last week so it’s rough around the edges for now, but it might be worth checking how it evolves over time.
Sure but they still wouldn’t have my email password or recovery codes, which was my point.
Print or write down your recovery codes, and stash them in a safe spot. And don’t store your primary email password in bitwarden either.
With your current setup, you’re one keylogger away from losing all your stuff.

She’s actually growing in popularity, opening for and collaborating with major bands. She’s booked on a lot of metal festivals as well.
Yeah, and that’s sad and dumb as fuck.
Like it or not, ads are still the most popular way to pay for online content. I despise ads and I hope some kind of micro-payment solution catches on and offers an alternative, but until then there needs to be a way to reward people for their work, so ads and full-on subscriptions it is.

Thanks for checking us out :) We had an audit done by quarkslab a few years back, and another one coming up this year since we’re currently implementing verified relations (signed SDPs). I’ll edit my comment with a link when I get back to work next week.
If you want a simpler solution than Matrix and don’t mind using a non-opensource app you could try twinme. You only need a username and a picture to create an account (could be anything, “Jane Doe” and a white square if you want). It has a couple unique features like multiple identities and click-to-call links, which you can share with people who don’t have the app so they can call you using only a web browser (e.g. on craigslist, lost pet flyers, …).
I work on this app as a full-stack dev, and for what it’s worth we only upload/store data that is strictly required for the app to work. We’re lobbying to open source it because we have nothing to hide and we know how important it is for the privacy/security minded folks, but it will take some convincing before management agrees to it…
He’s always said that tariffs are paid by the exporting country to the importing country. He’s wrong of course, but at least he’s consistent.
