That is probably just perspective. By zooming, I can see two possibles places when they might be outlets.

I have to disagree. Amenities such as benchs, and playgrounds can be place into the next street but there is a need to add important vegetation at least in some streets of dense urban environment to deal with heat wave and flood issues.

Not every tree essence grows as much as oak. I know some linden trees, older than I am, that were pruned properly one or twice a year and have kept a manageable size. I think hackberry tree don’t get much thick with time and there essences of tree that are chosen to be put in the street because they don’t grow that much in European climate.

I wish there was more people on not-so-general communities.
If this means less meme or political posts, it would be for the best. However, more specific communities that are not part of a themed instance have very little activity. If I want to learn about ecology and its science, I know I can find many active communities on slrpnk.net, if I want content that matter to Germans, I can go it feddit.org, jlai.lu the same for Frenchs. But if I want people posting picture of nice looking sticks or find !foraging stories or connect with people doing !origami@feddit.org I know that I have to be patient and that’s to bad 'cause if people spend less time commenting US election or some shower thoughts, some people will find time and fun interacting in these communities and many others.

Yes. Or some other species close to it. I usually forage tree types of walnuts but I don’t know their names.
I once found a ornamental Juglans Nigra tree that my city have marked as “American walnut tree” and picked 10 or 15 nuts. It took me days just to open 3. It was tasty though.

Are these types of nuts sold in shops? In never saw anything but European walnuts and the taste and texture are very different.

I do it every year. Maybe, we don’t have the same kind of walnuts but in my area walnut trees are common enough to go to the woods, find a place with a few trees and fill a 50L bag of nuts in an hour. Do it with two or three people, twice or thrice during the season and the whole extended family have enough walnut for regular consomption until the next automn. When dried properly the walnuts last up to 3 years in their shell. A bit less than 2 years shelled in an airtight box. You do a bunch of in fall and you break the rest progressively during the year, while watching TV.

I bought walnut once in my life. To this day, I regret the waste of money. There are so common, I cannot understand how I manage not to have some foraged freely in the nature…

It you cook the sandwich, the bread, or any part of the filling, yes. If you toast your bread and warm up your ingredients in a pan, why not ? But if you are just cuting and filling. You’re assembling a sandwich, not cooking it.

I’ve started to use Qwant a few months ago when bing and duckduckgo started to give me result I had filtered out in my search. But now it is way past this stage. When I look for something I find a lot of related topic but nothing about the topic I’ve searched for.

I disagree. If you look again at the pictures, you will see that the subject is not car owners and their cars but rather people trying to move independently from their mode of transportation. If everyone is entitle to access an autonomous vehicle, then at any given point, you will need as much car as there is people. Despite the fact that some of the same people are not in a car but waiting for one. With personal car when the car is not used, it is kept away of the passage. Where an autonomous car, especially when use as public transport, will roam around town, clogging its arteries while empty.
You can reduce the problem by having the car stop for new people until its full (some countries taxies does that) but that’s not how the solution is sold to us. Self-driving car is sold as a way to keep moving in a five-seated vehicle even when along and having the vehicle kept driving even when fully empty.

There is also an inventive to buy people expensive truck as personnal vehicule but I believe that people in this community are willing to look at the externalities.

Agree. Transportation is a problem of flow maximisation. We won’t optimise the circulation in our system if we flood it with transportation machinery instead of focusing on the people.
