Alright. I’m a huge supporter of Ukraine here. But the west has been collectively providing Ukraine with a metric fucktonne of weapons. Russia is clearly the aggressor, at fault, and fucking evil. But if we can send weapons to Ukraine, Russia acquiring weapons elsewhere is probably fair game. That doesn’t mean we can’t apply economic or political pressure.
In many ways, this war dragging on for a long time is actually in Chinese interests, as far as I can tell. It makes the west war-weary making it less likely we can sustain another conflict should China decide to engage over Taiwan or similar. And it increases Russian reliance on China in the longer term. The only thing China is likely unhappy about here is NK’s increasingly large role (moving into Russian sphere of influence).
But unless we’re willing to actually sanction China, the west will just complain and do nothing.
Needs appropriately coloured paintballs.
Classic intro to orbital mechanics question. You could actually pull this off on some of the smaller bodies in the solar system (asteroids, etc.) provided you put the hole through the body from the north to south pole to avoid Coriolis effects. Time would be equal to the circular orbit time at the same altitude. Cost would be astronomical.
Yeah, the drones are basically maneuvering sea mines now. And many of long term loitering. Going to be weird.
Step one: soap and water. Step two, a mild acid – you probably have a citric acid based bathroom tile cleaner already or similar. Wrap it in a sacrificial towel or similar and let it soak in that weak acid overnight.
Probably should be launched with a trebuchet
Depending on the carrot, the skin can be significantly more bitter. And sometimes peeling can be quicker than trying to scrub dirt out of particular lumpy carrots.
YMMV
The premise here is that Trump loses but refuses to back down, attempting to forcibly claim victory. If Trump legitimately wins, there is a different path. Then…
Assuming multiple systematic failures occur simultaneously, including any of: actual voter fraud, fraudulent electors, congress refusing to certify, a captured supreme court acting in favour of Trump, or actual insurrection on or before Jan 6th.
I actually expect the US Military to step in. Every member is sworn to uphold the constitution. But if the constitution has been discarded, then I’d expect them to step in to restore it.
Failing that, the US likely fractures and we leave the Republic phase.
This is actually ridiculous. I bet the tank operators were so confused haha
All those low battery warnings. It really seems to be about small margins for success eh :)
It would be a good choice if I had two wires. This is a single wire, so I’d only be using one of the two contacts. So some of the features aren’t needed.
No never seen them. Will investigate. I wish the pictures made it more clear what the actual mechanism is. Maybe I need to handle one in person to understand.
This seems like a decent suggestion. Also, inexpensive and field repairable.
Yeah, that’s a good option perhaps. I grabbed em recent because of a steam sale, but never played them before. Appreciate the rec :)
I’ve never heard of this, so it is perfect as a recommendation! Because now I have something to look into :)
I’ve played all the old school Square and Enix stuff. FF6 is my goat.
Sure. Tales games tend to be high fantasy settings where each game is its own setting (much like Final Fantasy in that sense). They tend to have a lot of “war against heaven corrupted” kind of vibes. But largely there’s a lot of places to explore, NPCs to talk to, and a bunch of great little skits that trigger between your team. They tend to be lighter on graphics in exchange for length and depth of story. But it’s also somewhat linear, and carefully crafted and you can sort of lose yourself in finding the next story beat.
But they also typically have active combat systems where it’s about button mashing and combos. This is the part I don’t like :)
No! I’ve heard it is quite the investment if you want to start at the beginning. Is there a later jumping in point that works well, in your opinion?
Good for gaming, good for linux, good for a lot of the other open source projects involved. It’s so close to being critical mass :)
