They don’t have to give money to receive it back. They just keep it, while still having tourists (cf France).

I like this image. I’m a citizen of a small monarchy, and I used to be a staunch republican (in the European sense). I’m still not a big fan of the monarchy, but it’s a way to help conservatives feel secure while being, in fine, more open than the neighboring republics. But we don’t have a House of Lords or any nobility beside the reigning immediate family, so that helps accepting the monarchy.
For the, the main source of proto-fascism is nationalism. The form of governement is secondary.
I am a citizen of two countries: a republic and a monarchy. Both are advanced European liberal democracies.
One has a strong far right, refuse to acknowledge its own regional languages because of the threat they pose to the national unity and has a very strong head of state that can decide a lot of things alone, without being responsible before the Parliament.
The other has almost no far right, a very numerous immigrated population, recognizes three national languages but officially communicates in two other languages spoken by its two biggest immigrated communities, has a weak head of state and a strong Parliament.
Which one is the most “proto-fascist”? The first.
Which one is a monarchy? The second.

In France for example, there is a transition period between 16 and 18 were teenagers are sexually adults, but if actual adults have sex with them it’s still considered like a kind of rape, even if the teenager is willing (I’m simplifying a lot). Verify the details of your countrie’s laws.

Not really. Anarchists generally recognize the authority of specialists (scientists, doctors, …), they just refute them the right to impose their ideas on individual. It’s a little stretch, but officers in an anarchist army would be like specialists, whose authority is not imposed, but freely recognized.

I’m French, and in France hate speech is illegal. Negation of crimes against humanity is illegal. Defamation is illegal. And you know what? France is still a free country. Freer even maybe, as our other freedoms and rights (like our rights to live peacefully) are more protected.
Zloubida@lemmy.worldto You Should Know@lemmy.world•YSK: That nazis Don't Actually Believe in Free Speech26·4 months agoI disagree. Free speech should have limits, like every other freedom, because freedoms oppose each others. Insults, defamation, threats, calls for hatred, lies, … shouldn’t be covered by free speech.

Only 25’000 inhabitants.
Manual typewriters. You did not precised the age of the technology in question!
Do you knew that there are an average of 1’800 parts in a typewriter? That it can print in two colors, with different margins, different interlinear space, tabulations and that some even have things like word count? It’s a marvelous and yet understandable piece of technology. Someone technically inclined can understand 100% of the working of a typewriter, nobody can understand 100% of a word processor.
