Let’s not beat around the bush, or indulge in unnecessary drama: I’m moving to another instance and Patient Gamers needs a new main mod.

Even though I’ve neglected it (the initial plan was to play things by ear for a few days, and accordingly give shape to the place afterwards), this community has attracted a good number of subscribers, it has potential if put in good hands. Hence why I’d rather give the keys to someone else than close, or abandon, it at the same time as my account.

Edit: I appreciate those mentioning that I could mod from another account, but I have no desire to remain involved with this instance in any way.

Edit2: V0.18 is here; time for a coin toss!

Knowing the in and outs of the seminal subreddit is definitely a plus! The secretary has your number, we’ll recontact you 😋 (just waiting a bit before making a decision; patient till the end!)

Awesome! I’m patient too, don’t worry :) I’d be happy to have a back and forth with you too, if you wanted me to know anything in particular about modding your community. The last thing I’d want is to run it to the ground. Feel free to message me any time, or I can shoot you my discord if you’re interested

I’ve always been quite refractory to Discord. My time with Skype remains my last actualization in terms of chat app (yes, my cave is comfy, thank you! Quite cool too, in this weather).

Really, the only way you could go wrong would be by making this a current gaming news-following community.

Just to mention it, the way I saw things would have been to adopt basic structural rules similar to those of the subreddit, i.e., a focus on discussion and avoiding discussing games from a defined time period. From then I would have wished to let users decide the modalities of application, as well as letting them give their input on subsequent rules (about recommendation requests, spoilers, etc…) I think that would’ve been in the spirit of the host-instance.
