Remember when Saudi Arabia chopped a journalist into little pieces? I feel like they should be on the list
I mean, the USA basically went to fight Afghanistan for 9/11, while staying best buds with Saudia Arabia. Like, not like the Taliban were good guys by any means, but as far as 9/11 goes, that wasn’t their fault.
I mean given osama going into afghanistan was not so crazy. Going in and not trying then going whole hog into iraq. Now that was crazy stupid.
Al Qaeda was in Afghanistan at the time not KSA. If I punched you in the face in NYC and then fled to CA sending you pictures from there, would you look for me in NJ, where I live, NYC where the assault happened, or CA where I told you I was? The USA went to the place where the people attacked them were.
They demanded Bin Laden, where then asked for evidence and then just attacked instead of handing over evidence.
Let’s face it, the US government didn’t want an actual solution, they wanted a show of strength. It was always about kicking someone’s teeth in in public.
If they had provided evidence they would have been giving an enemy nation evidence of the network of intelligence assets in Afghanistan and Pakistan. Those assets would have all been murdered by the Taliban and Pakistani ISI. The USA was unwilling to completely destroy their intelligence networks over this.
While the narrative in certain circles makes it sound like the Taliban was being reasonable, I doubt anyone in the intelligence communities or diplomatic corps are foolish enough to believe The Taliban were being honest about this
Jet fuel can’t melt Saudi sanctions
I am curious as to what this means materially. Like, if you have one sanction that encompasses 80% of your economy, that’s more than 5 sanctions that each encompass 1% of your economy.
Is current Russia more excluded from the global economy than Iran or North Korea? What is this graph saying?
What is this graph saying?
Not much
Sanctions are done on an individual country basis and seperate sanctions can cover individual resources or groups (eg: electronics)
Come on North Korea, those are amateur numbers.
Kind of difficult to sanction a country that has no GDP.
